Cam working on rebuilding his throwing fundamentals

Cam's a mess.
Crosses his feet. Nearly overthrows a receiver 15 yards out.
I want to be on board, but...
We're kinda screwed.

I didn't see any obvious mechanical issues on that short clip.

Do the mediots watching practice have a vested interest in pumping up jones and trashing newton?
I'll be Capt Obvious - the media has one mission = create controversy, division, and highlight differences. Views and clicks are their business model and human nature dictates that discussion and argument require those differing viewpoints (true or not). So they're created through vastly different narratives whether truth or not to help accentuate differences to force additional discussion and argument (you know kind've like....here).

These are the throws last year that when there was a rush or he was having to slide at all in the pocket he'd either throw at 100mph over the receiver's head or straight into the ground.

I wonder how we can be such better evaluators of quarterbacks than Belichick.
It's a fact that many of us here are better evaluators of WRs & TEs than Bill is.

The video spoke for itself. Mac's throws were all consistent and on target. Cam was all over the place.

I remember some blaming White or Michele for an incomplete pass in the slot that was a 100mph fastball behind their stride when they were wide effing wide open. No touch or accuracy. Can't imagine watching another full season of that.

I obviously don't get out much, but I thought, "Whose #4? Drops his arm down a little, and has a bit of a rounded motion, but he has a really snappy delivery."

"As it was also worth noting that Stidham continues to be in possession of an arm that would be voted “Most Likely To Succeed."

I don't disagree. The comment was in regards to creation of disparate narratives to drive viewership not on whether or not those narratives are true or false. Even if the differences did NOT exist you know the stories would claim they did.

I figure this will be the talk of camp, Stidham's arm.... We know going in that he has the best arm, what that means in the grand scheme is probably not much.

While I don't doubt that Stidham has the best arm of the group, after watching a few of Mac's throws and hearing the descriptions of how practice was run, my take away was that Stid prefers to put a little more mustard on the ball than Mac does on short uncontested throws. I'm not sure how anyone could watch that practice and make definitive statements about arm strength. I think it will be more telling when the practices open up a bit more.

The good news about arm strength is that Jones looks as if he can improve his, at least a little bit, with some targeted workouts. And, while arm strength is definitely important to a QB, it's more about having the minimum required than it is about having the best in the league. Jones will need to be excellent with his timing on the longest throws, and he'll have to be judicious with his deep outs, but he's shown the ability to get the ball where he wants it.
