Broncos fumble: Forced to release Dumervil

It's been gone over again and again. You're involved enough in following the Patriots that you know. Have a nice night.

RayClay knows what everyone here except you knows.

That Mankins was, dollar for dollar, the most overpaid Patriot last year.

I'm not sure if he will come with as big a price tag as many think. I don't think teams would be willing to give him more than 5-6 mil/year.

The irony of your posts never seems to end. You have a nice day, too.

Can't refute it, can you?

If you can't remember guys like Shiancoe, just to name an incredibly obvious one, I suggest you go for testing. As I said, the irony of your posts never seems to end. Bagging on a guy playing through multiple injuries as "overpaid', while ignoring guys who essentially never saw the field..... good Ol' Smessy.

And that'll be the end of this chat.

One of the sides must have gotten a "PC Load Letter" error preventing the fax from working.

This would explain why Freeny/Abraham have yet to be signed.

Given the Ravens' cap situation, we may have a good shot at landing him.

Well ain't this an interesting confluence of events!

I'd be interested to know whether he and JMD got along when they were together. I have no idea. Could be important, if the Pats are truly interested, even if he is now only the OC.

Yup -- in fact, it's better for Dumervil that way because he gets an advance in salary of $5 million. The reporting on this is crazy. It's not some massive screw up. It's a guy with a big cap hit getting cut. If he was willing to take less than his contract to sign with Denver, they can still do it and not have to increase the cap hit over what it would have been with the salary reduction, simply by (as you say) making the payment in the form of money that can be spread over the three years.

If the agent was trying to play a game by getting the Broncos to miss the 4 p.m. deadline, or if the Broncos even think that's a possibility though, I can't see them wanting to go near the guy. That is about the most slimy thing imaginable.

I don't think it was that because if Dumervil did not want to stay with the Broncos then he just refuses the pay cut And they cut him

Dumervil had his best season the year McDaniels was his head coach. Keep in mind he missed McDaniels second season. McDaniels is also the guy that gave him 6 years 61 million (43 guaranteed)

Gotta think McDaniels thinks highly of him.

Yes but now he has to wait 5 days before he can hire a new agent.

His former agent waived the 5 day waiting period apparently.

From what I've read on the Denver forums, he may already have a new agent.

Last I saw, the leader to be his new agent was none other than...

Tom Condon
