That people would take exception to the actions of Roger Goodell and his administration today, and at the same time say they have "no problem" with Tagliabue or Rozelle, is incomprehensible.

When, as one in that position always does, Tagliabue had the opportunity to actually investigate the facts, determine what if anything really happened, and act accordingly and fairly, he chose to have some superficial conversations with mostly those not there, and said to himself, "Sounds like a strong narrative to me! After all, NOW - and People magazine - are running with it, and we sure don't want the league to appear supportive of sexism or chauvinism, so there you go!" So, he covered his own ass and hopped aboard the Patriots Hate Train, wiping his feet on our faces.

Sound familiar?

Speaking of the Indiots... I don't know if there's some way to gauge the amount, but I bet they're all feeling pretty deflated after their latest loss, this time to the mighty Jags.

When gauging Clots butthurt, use the non-logo gauge. Measure ours with the logo gauge.

We also need a high capacity gauge to count the Indy bones scattered across the FUFL.

Is it wrong to enjoy being a part of the worst fanbase in the FUFL?

Um, well, don't know if this counts, but on 12/18/76 the Patriots were assaulted and robbed out at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum...

What Orthwein and Kraft did to Pat Patriot in '93 was not at a game...

Sorry, understand it's a serious question, and I suppose you can't call our chances of winning the game "somebody" when they're the victim of a terrible coach's decision...

Will have to do some research to answer your question.

Read the police blotter for that location, Actual Pats Fan... how could anybody be expected to go after a petty theft of a conference semi-final?

Plus, they were the "valiant Raiders," not the Oakland Raiders.

As to Pat Patriot, come on man. He had his time. This was part of it... special place in my heart and all... but cartoon guy logo just doesn't do it. That's why this guy isn't on the Texan's helmets...

No linkage here, but without football knowledge, line up helmets and tell me who'll win - pure psych test. Better yet to get rid of bias, get some little 5 year old kid from some third world country (but one that has not been biased by seeing a t-shirt proclaiming us to have beaten the Giants or the Bears).

Get that little kid to look at a lineup of NFL helmets and tell you who he thinks are the good teams with tough players, and who are the bad teams with wimpy players.

Where do you think the Pat Patriot helmet grades out, leaving aside our loyalty to the cartoon? I think against present-day helmets, he's maybe just above the flaming thumbtack and the "beloved" symbol of green-beans anonymity. ("We're so devoid of identity we have to just spell out who we are.")

By the way, the Raiders would win the scary logo test, hate to say it. Come on they just would. Great Unis, even if you think they're douchebags. It inspires a post-apocalyptic-themed "black hole," etc. etc. etc. Us? What could we have, the um Ethan Allen Gallery?

And back to design: REALLY? At the peak of the golden age of jet aviation, the JEST couldn't evoke the power or speed of a jet-powered airplane somehow? And I know there's some subtle little "less is more" airplane parts built into the logotype... but "less is more" on a team logo, well... really? Good job, NY, you end up HAVING to spell out the name of the team for 50 years.

Flying Elvis (Really, Man in the Mountain) kicks ass, on-field and in my heart, vs. Pat Patriot. So what if we can't have a post-apocalyptic movement built around it.... well we came close with the popularity of the Tea Party, but that would be a REAL apocalypse, not a mad-max movie, so I'll live without it...

Okay I need some coffee

So, the conspiracy theory is debatable, but there's no bias against NE? Was it Jerry Jones who shook RG's hand and said, "Good job on Brady!"...Jealousy and resentment of Kraft doesn't exist, and/or has no influence?

Also curious, if Brady were black, would not the lack of a substantive case create the appearance of racism on the part of the NFL, and therefore affected the judges' ruling?

The post you are responding to said there was confirmation bias working against the patriots. In fact, it was in the first sentence of my post.

Your passion is awesome, and I like that you've thought about it. I don't care if we disagree.

If Yosemite Sam were on the Texans' helmets, I would frigging root for them ALL the time, except against us. I mean, how could I not...

Reminds me of some guy who approved the Yosemite Grant enacted by Congress, less than a year before an insignificant, random shooting at the Ford's Theatre on 4/15/1865...

John Facenda's thoughts while reading the narrative for that hilarious video, reminiscent of another one:

I get paid pretty well for this, and for the good of the game, I'll play along with everybody else...Hey, hundreds of missed or terrible calls happen in football...only usually spread out over seasons, not within one single game...am I done yet?...I hope my kids never hear this...OK, I'm outta here

I think you'd be very, very surprised at which logo(s) the unbiased five-year-old from wherever would choose, meeting all those criteria. Anyway, the fact is, the Patriots were often a good team, always with tough players their first thirty-three years, looking as they did. Lots of Pats fans, and non-Pats fans alike, consider them the best logo/uniforms in football. Yes, better than the Raiders.

For nearly twenty years, along with hating the Jets and rooting hard for them to lose, I was always able to point and laugh at them, wearing thisalong with silly uniforms. Then, when Parcells escaped from here they listened to his opinion and followed his advice: Go back to our roots, look like winners. They looked pretty damned good in SBIII. All the AFL was on their side, that day.

Anyway, because of folks like you - and obviously, Bob Kraft - I'll accept keeping flying elvis somewhere, at the stadium entrance, everywhere it's posted (which is everywhere) outside of Foxborough, on team stationery, etc. Most people just accept it, knowing there's nothing they can do about it anyway, like the absence of gun control.

Thanks again for your thoughts, and the ridiculous video.
