That was bad too.

That might be the worst draft choice but letting CMart walk was ridiculous[/QUOTE]

I have a hard time blaming the franchise for a decision that the player and outgoing head coach conspired to make lose-lose for the team. Parcels made sure he didn't sign a contract extension before parcels left for jesters, then sent a poison pill contract that use of has since been outlawed by nyjfl.

Ridiculous OUTCOME, but there was no DECISION involved.

I got my hopes up over LL Koolaid Maroney too.

Every time I try to reserve judgment they pull me back in.

@Gumby

Are you saying C-Mart was in on a conspiracy which was born in 1996 to jump to the NYJ in 1998?

I suggest you go back and watch A Football Life : Curtis Martin. You may revise your assessment on the situation.

Sony Michel (Week 4, rookie season, third game)
112 yards
1 TD
4.5 YPA

Laurence Maroney (Week 4, rookie season, fourth game)
125 yards
2 TDs
8.33 YPA

Let's calm down. I want Sony to be worth the pick badly but he's hardly proven that yet

This is not apples to apples. Michel did not have a training camp or preseason and just had knee surgery.

I'm ok with tempering unbridled excitement around Sony but using these cherry -picked stats are a joke.

Plus Sony has only played 3 games. If he has a 100 yd game tonight he'll have basically the same numbers as LoMo did after 4 games.

Additionally, LoMo had pretty productive 2006 and 2007 seasons. If Sony replicated that plus the two 07 AFC playoff games Id be ok with it.

I am not making any claims about Sony having arrived. He had a decent game. Good. Lets see more. I just wanted to point out that Maroney and Michel are not really comparable. Also, Maroney did look pretty damn good. He just was missing something, maybe a dedication to the game? I am not sure.

Dion Lewis is better than both.

You aren't. It was more of a piggy-back on the post you responded to.

Anything I say about LoMo is pure speculation but I think a combination of commitment to what the Patriots wanted from him (running style, fumbles, etc) and his resistance or inability to comply did him in.

Dion Lewis is better than both.

Right now, yes. Upside? Not even close.

Alot of people forget how good maroney was in the 2007 afcc. Brady had an off game too so it was a huge performance

LoMo was outstanding v JAX and SD. No dancing, just one cut n go. They don't even go to the SB w/o his performance.

If Michel can be Laurence Maroney without the injury that derailed Maroney's career, he'll be a solid pick.
