This is a key point. That was a huge difference between Favre and guys like Elway and Manning - Favre just threw the ball with abandon most of the time. (I AM NOT COMPARING STID TO THESE GUYS BTW TROLLS!) He also racked up up bad interceptions. It's the gunslinger mentality - either I die or you die - not a lot of gray.
I will take Favre over Elway and Manning every day of the week and especially Sundays

The team was holed in for 2 days wondering who else might have covid, were constantly being tested even on the day of the game before they flew and probably still a bit worried going back to their families. Its a lot of weight on your mind esp when you are travelling. If mahomes had covid there is no way this game happens yesterday. They really shouldnt have played yesterday regardless of the result.

My takeaways in no particular order:

BB and our D have Mahomes' number. He looked uncomfortable all game.
Hoyer stinks and we saw why he is not fit to be an NFL QB - two brain farts near the EZ that cost us at least 6 points. I have more situational awareness than him.
Oh Jules
Damn we could have used Brady's 5 TDs in this game
Stidham still looks like an INT machine
Good defensive performance wasted by inept QB play
Crap now we are 2 games behind Buffalo
Running game looks pretty good, despite injuries to O line
WTF refs AND BB for not doing something about that obvious INT? Game changer for us, wasted (again)
Hurry back Cam, but I bet we are stuck with Stidham against Denver
One of the two interceptions was on Jules. "Interception machine" is a bit of a hyperbole. Also, I wonder what one should one expect from a second year quarterback with zero NFL starts, zero practice with the first team offense, flying out with the team on game day, and operating from behind against the defending Super Bowl champs.

Justin Hebert?

Because of one bad interception you think he's an interception machine? SMH
No, I am thinking back to last year when they put him in in a blowout, he immediately threw a pick-6 and Brady had to come back in. I forget who the opponent was.

That was Jamal Adams and the Jets.

His debut didn't go much differently than Brady's did against the Lions in that Thanksgiving day blowout.

Yeah, but Brady's next game went differently from Stidham's.
Sorry, I don't trust the kid. It seems like the Pats don't either. I hope he comes out next time and proves me wrong.

Maybe. Hyperbole is of course a novelty around here...:)

That's true but when I saw it I was thinking their debuts were remarkably similar. Only difference was the Lions defender dropped Brady's pick 6 throw and Adams didn't drop his.

I won't jump to conclusions about last night yet. Stid was as ice cold as it gets. He looked like what you'd expect from a 3rd string QB who was only activated 48 hours earlier and had no practice and no reps with anyone. I'm willing to see what he's got on Sunday if Cam can't go.

BB not sharp???

Did not seem as "sharp" as he usually is, after the strip sack he got involved with arguing with the refs.. why didn't he challenge the play?? But of course a "not sharp" BB is a better coach than anyone else in the league, the bar that he has set is very high.

Why would he throw a challenge flag for a call (i.e. "in the grasp") that can't be reviewed ?

Should he challenge the coin flip next time when it doesn't come up heads ?

I called the McCourty should-have-been pick as well.

But the Refs were as biased as they were in Foxborough last year.

That may have been too much to overcome (again), regardless.

I felt this too in terms of the bias. KC is still the NFL favorite and Mahomes is the golden boy. And yes I realize I may sound like some conspiracy theorist

There is a clear mandate that the refs protect the top players, especially this year with Covid. When the ref saw Mahomes getting hit, he blew the whistle and called it "forward progress."

Because he knew the call was down by contact and couldn't challenge it.
