This is after the players go on IR (Rivers, Edelman, Jones, Garcia, McClellin).
Slater, Freeny and Bolden might be cut and brought back.
This strategy makes sense with veteran special teamers.

I think there will be 5 receivers. Especially with Mitchell being iffy. Probably Carr or Lucien will be #5. Prefer Carr but I think Lucien makes it. Wouldn't be surprised if Hollister makes it over O'Shaunessy at TE.

One unit that I keep going back and forth on is the offensive line.

Eight players means only three backups for five positions.

Is it better to have 11 defensive backs (including special teamers) with 8 OL?

Or nine OL, leaving five S and five CB?

I still find it hard to believe they will
go with 4 wrs considering the injuries. I am not buying it. They really need to pick up another DE. A serviceable DE.

Completely agree. And there is something about O'Shaunessy that screams finesse that I hate.

My predictions, but man I really hope Richards and Marquis Flowers are cut. Flowers especially seems like such a waste, but I don't know how to cut him after them dropping a pick on him.

Going to be pretty mad if Flowers and Richards makes the team over Foster or Carr.

I do NOT like Jordan Richards. One reason. Turtle slow. NOT NFL level. I'd like 5 receivers instead of four, to do it I'd carry two TE's into the season.

I bet you wrote this while doing the old man shuffle along the Nursing Home's buffet line to try to get some extra mashed taters.

Your only going with 7 linemen? Thats pretty thin, especially with Solder not being all there yet

You could make room for both Foster and Carr by deleting Richards, and then leave Bolden and Flowers to compete for a final ST position.

After the smoke clears is the name of the biography I'm making about my life in a state with legal weed.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you....

Edelman tore his ACL in preseason game 3...
And is out for the season.

Again... I'm sorry

With a thousand dudes hitting the street all at once, and Belichick apparently watching their every snap, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he scoops up some dudes he covets (that we probably haven't heard of) and whom ultimately bounce all our bubble players off the wk1 roster.

here's the new title I'm working on...How I Reached Through Cyberspace And Strangled Fnordictrapezoidal With A Piano Wire.

It's a gripping work focused on rejection, revenge and eventual redemption.

Both Carr and Lucien - and KJ Maye, for that matter - seem to be much better downfield blockers than either Hollister or O'Shaughnessy. At this point, if I had to decide between keeping Carr or keeping one of the two TEs, I'd keep Carr.

A DE/LB or two will be picked up on waivers.

Why would slater be cut???
Where is David Harris?
I don't see mcclellin on IR.

Yeah one of the leading ST tacklers of the last regular season screams finesse to you. Might need to readjust those antennas..

I think there will be 5 receivers. Especially with Mitchell being iffy. Probably Carr or Lucien will be #5. Prefer Carr but I think Lucien makes it. Wouldn't be surprised if Hollister makes it over O'Shaunessy at TE.

Hollister has no ST value wheres Shaunessy is an instant ST contributor. Hollister will either be on the PS or on another team.

Similarly, it makes no sense for a decision to be between Carr or Lucien. They essentially play different positions and unfortunately for Lucien we dont need another vertical receiver. Carr remains a project who will need at least another year to be compentent. He couldnt even stand out against the third stringers of the Giants, or to use Loykos words:

Both seem like PS material if they make it through waivers which I am uncertain of.

Which brings me to the little advantage we have over most of the league with the opener being on Thursday. We could essentially keep some of the bubble candidates initially on the 53, only to cut them on Thursday or Friday when most of the other teams have their gameplans already set up and are more reluctant to make space on rosters right before a game. This way we might be able to smuggle a couple of those players through waivers and if given a nice salary maybe keep developing them on the PS.
