Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
You were one of the people that disagreed with me about 2007 Moss making a difference last season. In what reality was our OL doing a better job last year than in 2007?
So Randy Moss was the Reason We lost that almost perfect season?? Anything to make yourself feel better.

Get this through your Head; Maye is not and will Never be like Tom Brady on the Playing Field. Maye Cannot Win the Big one without actual Talent! Drake Maye needs that Diva WR and that RB to get it Done.
Get this through YOUR head.

There is no WR who would have been the difference for the Pats in last year’s SB.

I'm past last year looking ahead.

THAT is what you take from what I'm saying? Wow.

Or........stay with me for a minute........perhaps I'm saying not even the 2nd best WR of all time catching passes thrown by the GOAT is enough to finish a perfect season if the OL is getting worked. Please rematch the Super Bowl, come back and explain to all of us how AJ Brown is the cure for why we lost.

Dude we had a Injured LT and a $hitty Guard who should be playing Center in Jared Wilson. You are just *****ing about the possible compensation for Brown. Again I am looking ahead I want a Legitimate WR like Brown on the 26 Patriots *looking ahead*.

Nobody will ever be Tom Brady.

But I think you are underestimating Maye. Some people, prior to the season rated our WR corps as the worst in football. All he did with that WR corps was throw for over 4100 yards, had an almost 4-1 TD to INT rate, and helped get the team to the SB despite being the 4th most sacked QB in football. Also, he elevated the WR corps.

Would it be nice to have better weapons for Maye, yes, but he does a phenomenal job regardless. He has a receiver corps that struggled to get open against good defenses. It’s all about improving the Oline, imagine a Drake Maye who isn’t under duress all the time.

I'm also looking ahead. In 2028, when Maye and Gonzalez both start costing a ton of money, I want to have a 1st round pick to add cost effective top end talent to the roster.

Over the last 4 drafts, the "worst" 1st round pick we've made is Will Campbell, and most fans still think he'll make an excellent guard. (And plenty still think he'll be a fine LT when healthy again) With our recent track record, I'm in no hurry to lose a 1st round pick.

That was Regular Season Drake Maye... Playoffs Drake Maye couldn't do it with those Above average guys.

In total agreement I'm hoping our First Four picks are all hits Lomu -Jacas - Raridon and Prunty. That would be like a continuation of last years Draft.

So you agree that trading a 2028 1st round pick for AJ Brown in unwise?

Perhaps we should have a poll.

1) Is there an agreement in principle between PHI and NE that will be signed in early June? and should we expect that trade to be executed?

2) Is there an agreement in principle that we think NE should be free to renegotiate?

3) is there not an agreement in principle, just a general understanding that PHI and NE will negotiate after June 1?

I think it's going to be a 2nd and maybe a player; hopefully Pop Douglas gets thrown in.

Also I think it's a shrewd move by Philly asking for 2028 First. That said the 2027 Draft is going to be a very Deep one.

But with AJ we’ll be picking 32nd right?

So reports are a 2028 1st.
I always said a 2027 2nd is the most I would give up, not considering deferring to 2028.
Deferring moves the value down a round, so I would be fine with that…..until the Thursday evening of the 2028 draft.

Yep. Credit cards are great until the bill comes in the mail.

They have like 12 WR's on their Roster now so; you have to think he's gone.

Playoff Drake Maye clearly had an injured throwing shoulder due to the poor OL play through the season, which was even poorer in the SB.

On another note, making the SB last year has a downside. It has people thinking the Pats are further along on their development than they actually are.

The Pats are still building and need to keep, and hit, on their draft picks. They are not one expensive, both in salary and compensation, player away and should not be conducting business as if they are.
