Today's game is going to be the sample for the season. They will play close eveyr game but wont win many. just too indisciplined at times.

Tonight also further established the importance of both Demario Douglas and Tyquan Thornton. When Kendrick Bourne is your fastest receiver on the field it just isn’t going to cut it.

Douglas being benched was infuriating. And we need to get Thornton on the field to see if he can get some separation for us. Parker and JuJu are fine receivers but they are possession guys. We are throwing multiple screens to JuJu. What is going through Bill O’Brien’s head with that? Those are Matt Patricia plays.
The. Line. Can’t. Block. That’s why they throw all
This quick stuff. That’s all they can do or mac gets sacked

Yeah the pats don’t completely suck. But again is it time to think about a real rebuild. It would be painful but I think that’s how you do it. A few really high picks and load up

At least after BB is gone

pats have chance to go 0-4 to start the season. Damn! i have high doubts about them winning vs the jets next week.

For the people who believe if you give Mac an elite weapon he will be good i'm gonna need this list of starting quarterbacks who Mac Jones is better than, cause there's not many.

You aren't going to win anything in the NFL in 2023 with one of the 10 worst quarterbacks in football, it's not all his fault but he's just limited and his skillset has arrived 10 years too late.
Josh Allen was terrible and on the verge of losing his job until they got Diggs. Tua was viewed as a total dud until they got Hill and Waddle.

It makes a difference and every team with a good QB is realizing that they need to get weapons for their QB to look good. The fact is, you need an x factor who can clearly beat one on one coverage and get open and force defenses to make concessions to either contain them and leave gaps elsewhere or live with whatever damage they do.

The screens are a result of the poor OL play....run game is iffy, defenders are just pinning their ears back and coming hsrd

Frustrating when the screens aren't hitting, but they are an unfortunate necessity

Problem with that is that's what bad teams say. Good teams find a way to win not to come up short.

It's the NFL the Dolphins were only favored by 2 point and the Eagles by 4 they both covered.

You aren't going to get blown out regularly unless you just completely suck, bad teams lose close games.

Look at how many bad teams the Patriots should of lost to during the dynasty but they found a way to pee down their leg and blow the game at the end.
And herein lies our frustration. Bad teams lose 40-0 to the Cowboys. We are just plain mediocre, with no quit, but sadly no gamebreaking ability to make pulling out a clutch win a reality.

we talked Kraft v Parcels forever, until Belichick and Brady came and it turned up roses...Brady v Belichick is valid IMHO. everyone calls the coach a genius, greatest of all time...if that is true, how is he under .500. it's also valid because so many on here have blind faith in a coach, whom up until **** Rehbein found Brady, was well below .500. Until something changes with the coaches offensive talent acquisition this team isn't going to improve
BB was 11-5 in 2008, the year Brady was injured by Pollard.

Zo on the radio made the point that Tavai was being exploited. He’s become a decent LB. But he lacks the speed as does Bentley.

They’re old school thumpers. Miami’s offense is next generation.

My prediction: the Dolphins win the AFC East.
I was impressed by the Dolphins, including Tua tonight outside of the INT and fumbled snaps. They played smart. Didn’t try for too many home runs, adjusted to the Patriots defensive game plan and were patient.

Though I guess it’s not hard to be patient when you see the Patriots offense on the other side.

It’s more like showing respect to the guy who was more responsible for our success. You don’t show him the door in favor of a guy who was 5-13 before the savior showed up. But I digress.
Stop making it seem like you are 12. Brady WAS here for the entire 5-13 time period. And yes you are digressing, badly. But not bad for a Jet fan

And that's never going to happen when Bill is the head coach because he doesn't value the position like the rest of the league so they need to change the head coach, quarterback or both or we're just going to be going round in circles.

There's no signs running this back in 2024 is going to change anything.

No, @Ian they CANNOT let it go. It's the only post they have and they feel the need to repeat it OVER and OVER and OVER again, They got nothing else.

They are only here to piss people off and they are good at it, because when they face the reality of the game of football, they just fall back on their one go to post. There is no reason in them. I don't believe the guy is a Pats fan. I doubt he is even a football fan, because he has zero understanding of the game. He is here, like I said, to piss people off with his repetitive posts.
I agree, and I don't see the point. Let's say for argument sake that Brady stayed, they hired whoever, and things didn't work out and then like Tampa, Brady retired three years later. They'd be in the same position in the middle of a rebuild with another young quarterback who isn't Brady that they're frustrated can't make this receiving corps look amazing.

It is what it is. I get people are frustrated, but if you play devil's advocate, you essentially end up with three more 10+ win seasons and probably nothing - and still no Brady after year 3 - to show for it.

The guy can't play until he's 50. Gotta let it go.

He completed 70% of his passes, he's not the problem, O-line is an issue. If they could protect him and get the running game going things would look different.
On 5.5 ypa - that completion % is useless when you fail to score points, make costly turnovers, take drive killing sacks and fail to make things happen to get the win.

Mac is supposed to be the driving force but he is a passenger.

Get onwenu in shape, hope mafi can handle RG, and move onwenu back to RT

And hope brown gets healthy and plays for a contract
Said it in another post but it feels like they may have gone to that well one too many times.

I can tell you right now if you want to make money next sunday bet the UNDER in this next game
agree it will be a pitchers duel...but
Jets defense >>>Pats defense
Jets OL >> Pats OL
Jets running game >>Pats Running game
Pats QB>>>Wilosn

I suspect under 40 points total

The point isn’t that the screens are bad. It’s who you are throwing the screen to. That should be Demario Douglas or Ty Montgomery plays.

I feel like if Marcus Jones didn’t get hurt (or even if Jonathan Jones was active in the first place) this game would’ve been way different. The injuries at CB really hurt them badly. It was a good defensive performance overall considering that…

The OL just continues to be the pain point. It could’ve been worse, but they are still needing to scheme around it. Hopefully when Strange and Onwenu knock the rust off and Brown is back they’ll be in better shape but I don’t know. Anderson was just ok. I have to feel like trying Wheatley might be worthwhile. At least Lowe was serviceable backing up Brown.
