disagree, he had to throw the ball quickly every drop back or he was in trouble. OL sucked.
Crazy that the fastest sack on Mac was 2.8s per Next Gen. I assume that's 2.8s for him to get to the ground. Poor dude.

Please name one QB who can win games without a weapon . And then let's talk about Mac .

Gesicki couldn't out muscle a defender to get 2 yards . Our YAC sucks. Our running game was non existent and the easiest punching bag is Mac because he doesn't make the Mahomey throws..

Tbh he has some great throws today. Get Mac some weapons and we can evaluate. Right now he is handicapped for talent who can make those plays. Made 1 boneheaded play but there were at least 5-6 terrific throws . Tua was virtually untouched and his receivers got open in 1.5 seconds. Our receivers take more than 3 seconds to cross line of scrimmage .
I agree with this 100 percent.
People forget about the Multi ints Tom had against Miami over the years.
Mac played very well today better o line and a few explosive WRs not to mention a frickin running game and we win that game easily.
Mac was the better QB.
McDaniel was the better coach his team we better prepared that’s the sobering truth.

Tua's good

He's learned the offense well, gets the ball to where it needs to be

Under pressure he's pretty mid.....he did almost everything he could in the 2nd half tonight to lose this one (and the pats still didn't make enough plays to make that happen)

They should be shredding the offense. The defense wasn’t great, and tonight proved that they aren’t one of the best right now. We were also missing the Jon Jones and Jack Jones. A lot of Myles Bryant and the Dolphins still didn’t dominate us through the air.

A few bad plays in the running game for sure. But if our offense can’t overcome another team scoring 24 we are dead in the water.
Injuries were a killer tonight.

For the people who believe if you give Mac an elite weapon he will be good i'm gonna need this list of starting quarterbacks who Mac Jones is better than, cause there's not many.

You aren't going to win anything in the NFL in 2023 with one of the 10 worst quarterbacks in football, it's not all his fault but he's just limited and his skillset has arrived 10 years too late.

Bo Nix please. He has a hand cannon.

That and Jones isn't throwing to Tyreek Hill or Waddle. The last time he had Waddle to throw to, he won a national championship.
This is the most frustrating aspect to me. We had a chance to grab Dhop or numerous guys in the drafts over last few years... and yet again here we are wondering if Mac would pull out a game winning drive, if his WR knew how to toe tap/get open.

I truly believe if Hopkins was out there instead of 6th round rookies, then we would be 2-0. Mac looks a lot better this year despite running for his life on most plays and it's all going to waste.

Defense has to get better at LB….both Mostert’s TD’s were poor LB play
Zo on the radio made the point that Tavai was being exploited. He’s become a decent LB. But he lacks the speed as does Bentley.

They’re old school thumpers. Miami’s offense is next generation.

My prediction: the Dolphins win the AFC East.

Its wild that we played 2 absolutely terrible games vs playoff opposition, outclassed throughout, and yet with just one more play in each could have snatched victory. This is the hope I cling to...
Problem with that is that's what bad teams say. Good teams find a way to win not to come up short.

Tonight also further established the importance of both Demario Douglas and Tyquan Thornton. When Kendrick Bourne is your fastest receiver on the field it just isn’t going to cut it.

Douglas being benched was infuriating. And we need to get Thornton on the field to see if he can get some separation for us. Parker and JuJu are fine receivers but they are possession guys. We are throwing multiple screens to JuJu. What is going through Bill O’Brien’s head with that? Those are Matt Patricia plays.

I’ll play.

What I think MUST happen for a turnaround:

1. O-line is abysmal, especially with run blocking which is perplexing. Need a Scar-like turnaround and fast.

2. SOMEONE (reagor, Pop) HAS to become at least a semblance of a speed threat so that Defenses can’t just clog up 13 yards from the line.

4. Defense has to get better at LB….both Mostert’s TD’s were poor LB play
The O-line is going to be an issue if they can't settle the tackle positions. People are under this illusion that any other young QB in the NFL would fare better, I don't know if that's the case. Mac is Mac. He's a good, young QB, and he's who they've got. If you can't protect him, and if he's not going to have an explosive player, it feels like we're going to see more of the same.

It's the NFL the Dolphins were only favored by 2 point and the Eagles by 4 they both covered.

You aren't going to get blown out regularly unless you just completely suck, bad teams lose close games.

Look at how many bad teams the Patriots should of lost to during the dynasty but they found a way to pee down their leg and blow the game at the end.

My takeaways...

The dolphins beat us

Strange was short

Mac is our QB

Gonzo made Hill look like a clueless CB on that INT

No moral victories, but I know this team is capable of great football. 0-2..... let's go.

Guys, and this also goes for @FCB02062 , I hated the move also but the guy lasted all of three more seasons (and solidified his legacy with the win in Tampa). If they picked Brady, he'd be gone and they'd be in the same position with who knows at QB, just a different name. This reality was coming, it just would have been in another form. "It is what it is." Let it go.
No, @Ian they CANNOT let it go. It's the only post they have and they feel the need to repeat it OVER and OVER and OVER again, They got nothing else.

They are only here to piss people off and they are good at it, because when they face the reality of the game of football, they just fall back on their one go to post. There is no reason in them. I don't believe the guy is a Pats fan. I doubt he is even a football fan, because he has zero understanding of the game. He is here, like I said, to piss people off with his repetitive posts.

Is anyone else getting sick of protection breaking down/Mac taking a sack every time a drive starts to get moving??
The negative yard plays even on runs is a product of bad blocking. There were plays in this game where defenders came free and lineman completely whiffed on the block. One play when TWO blockers missed.

Fastest defensive player was out tonight. The second fastest guy went down early in the game. Mapu is a rookie trying to learn on the fly. They've got some athletes, but injuries were just brutal tonight.
