So they were the "other team' in the trade...Too bad for the kid; many of us felt that he was a solid late-Day 3 value who should've been attractive to the Pats because of his advanced route-running skills, but it just never clicked in Denver for him...

You are correct. We should have a swing OT as our #7 OL, which makes Ferentz our #8. I guess that my point is that Ferentz is very likely to make the 53. An 8th OL will be active. This OL would obviously be an OT.
I doubt Ferentz makes the team. Maybe the PS.

Herron, Karras, and Cajuste (if he's really healthy) or someone else will be there.

EDIT: And I expect William Sherman to make the team. Watched a video of a former NFL player (forget who it was) breaking down his game and raving about him. He says the Pats got a steal - well, who knows, right? But he sounds like a Patriots' type of OL.

I never expect too much out of a 6th-round pick (he was projected 5th), but Day 3 is where the Pats find their OL steals. He stays on the field, works his ass off, and tries to earn every OL position. Maybe they get him to PS. Maybe he makes the 53 (55) as the 9th guy, who came out as a tackle but is projected as a guard.

Yep...If Bill had previously done a better job with the TE position, then some of the money saved by signing only one of Henry/Smith could've been used to help re-sign Thuney.

how would captain stone the GM have gone about that? I’m curious.

I had totally forgotten that he was still on the street...He would've made a good Swing Tackle candidate - if not the out-right favorite - if he had been signed here too, instead of either Thanksdad or the Wrong Redmond...Sorry not sorry, but a Herron v Cunnyham v Cachoo competition for the job doesn't leave me feeling confident in case of injury to one of the starters there...

just maybe Cariso was the real GM after all, not just the “ de facto GM” Best draft We’ve had the moment he left, and instantly terrible Draft for Houston. Despite their lack of draft Capital and team situation, thirst trap was still regarded as terrible by almost everyone. Their free agent moves have also been regarded as the same. If they aren’t in fact planning to tank 100%, then it might seem that Nick was the problem.

He went to a team with major cap issues, with little draft capital because of moves made before his arrival, and with a QB who both wanted to get out and is facing potential legal/NFL problems. Getting Mills in the 3rd round was certainly adequate value, and was, because of Watson's shenanigans, a need pick made at a reasonable time. Caserio is churning the hell out of that roster, likely expecting the team to be crap as he tries to change what had obviously become loser culture, and was never going to be able to get that done in a single offseason. Given that all the **** hit the fan having nothing to do with him, he should get through year 3 as a long honeymoon before people start looking to bash his tenure.

Meanwhile, it's long been known that Belichick makes the calls in New England, so trying to push that off on anyone else, including Caserio, isn't going to hold water.

Yeah like that's the best way to use Bill's time...to sign a ****ing long snapper...Unbelievable.
Because 1 LS in camp (2 if you count whomever is the back-up) is all that is needed for 3 kickers and a Punter to be able to practice..

You never stop to think about the big picture.

Some people still dont get that BB allocates some of the slots during camp and through the season on the PS for players that are there to make practice sessions more efficient and not exclusively for competition / developmental reasons.

That's silly the whole practice squad should be QBs. This is a passing league and that's are our biggest hole. BB is really losing it if he thinks a couple OL on the PS will help us win anything.
