Have the newly "elected" been notified of their acceptance?
Does Kraft know?
Did the other non-invitees get advance word like BB?
No. It was a leak because it was egregious that it became a story.

Yeah that was me trying to characterize the way other people talked about it, hence my reference to the IGL.

Deflategate was IGL. Spygate was camera placement. Last I knew YOU CAN TOTALLY FILM THE OTHER TEAM'S DEFENSIVE SIGNALS JUST NOT FROM THE SIDELINES.

Sorry, angry old man in me starting to come out more and more as I age. Not the kind of coming out I'm used to.
There is a part of Spygate that gets glossed over and, I think, is the critical piece in BB's mind. That is that the rule at the time specified that you couldn't film "for use during the game. " BB figured that if he was filming for later study then the prohibition didn't apply. And if words mean what they say he was right. But then Goodell pulled out the "you know what we meant" hammer. The root source of Spygate is the NYJFL's inability to word a rule that expresses their intent - or to read a rule according to its plain English.

I agree with you. I'm just saying that sort of thing does happen. Baseball is a much more transparent process overall and because of that we know that voters play games based on if they think they can toss their votes around to help someone else. And yes 20% seems egregious, but it's realistically just 10 guys that might been a mix of "I don't like him, I want to punish him, I'm voting for Kraft so I won't do two Patriots, I want to help Craig/Anderson more and Bill isn't at risk".

It was absolutely a mistake for him not to be in and they are all so embarrassed nobody wants to go on record with their votes and there is waffling.
It should have been 50/50

Crazy how this backfired on the "no" voters. Probably thought they would have at least some level of public supports because "Patriots/Belichick bad", but instead it's unanimous outrage in support of Bill.
Some schmuck on X brought up the Wells Report as proof of Brady and Belichick's Guilt..

Wow.. Can you hear the animosity that Brady still has for Bill just dripping off his words... I'm shocked that it's still so raw and fresh for him . It's been 7 years.. (/sarcasm)
It’s funny that we keep hearing people say he didn’t get voted in because he is a **** and pisses people off and 99% of everyone who has commented on this calls it a travesty. ( with 1% being the pollens and borges’ of the world)

I think this is what we were told but the real difference is the NFL's response to the Jets filming from the sideline.

Consider these questions:

1. The Patriots say they never gave the Jets permission to film. But who alerted the NFL to the Jets filming? My bet is that it's Belichick since he saw the memo and knew the changes required. This is why I do not get upset with Mangini. Belichick was the INITIAL rat in the entire affair. But he did it because Mangini tried to pillage the coaching staff.

2. What was Belichick supposed to think when the NFL effectively invalidated the memo? How was he to interpret that?

3. The NFL effectively stated, "The Jets were OK to film because they got permission." Since when is cheating OK if you have permission to do it?

100% correct. In addition what they did was 100% legal if they did it from a different location.

This is incredibly wrong.

It should but consider no Baseball HOF'er besides Mariano Rivera went unanimous in history
This isn’t baseball.
Baseball doesn’t have unanimous in order to honor that no one ever has been in order to not diss Babe Ruth and the like.
The NFL has unanimous inductees all the time.

He burned so many bridges in the league and media ... that always comes home to roost.

How do you know what "bridges" Belichick burned? You don't. None of us do. What we DO know is that the Belichick we saw with the media was not the Belichick with players or off the field.

I'm not saying he was a saint. Clearly, he's not. But his personal life has nothing to do with what he did on the field.

You don’t know many Georgia fans, do you?
Nope. I don't care about who a person roots for at the College level. And I do my best not to stereotype.

The Jets filmed from the sidelines. The NFL was fine with it.

I can remember people going through and showing other teams doing the exact same thing and the league saying nothing about it.

It was especially damning when Bill Cowher admitted that teams did it regularly

Totally criminal that BB was jobbed out it. But, at the same time, he brought this largely upon himself.

The thing is, the coaches were all talking about doing this in the past.

The Jets incident happened after the memo came out within the same calendar year as Spygate

Same thing with Deflategate.

The NFL has proclaimed themselves to be the final arbiter.

So if the Omissioner doesn’t want to hammer the Jete, they are not punished.

If the Omissioner wants to hammer the team that is a thorn in the sides of the other owners, then he will declare the Pats guilty.

The media are pinning this on Polian, no doubt loving the irony of an utter scumbag sabotaging BB's legacy.

My guess that the real culprits are Kraft and the Boston media, both of whom I don't doubt relish this outcome and I suspect lobbied for it.
We know that Borges likely voted "NO". He never got over being shown up by BB taking Seymour... I would have no doubt he colluded with Polian.

I know that Kraft is petty, but I'm not sure that he'd stoop that low..

People who want the Pats to be guilty will cling to whatever “proof” they can find.

Otherwise they would have to accept that the Pats are just better than their favorite franchise.
