I was looking at TBD and for the most part, Bills fans don’t like this snub of BB either.

One of them mentioned something that I really hope isn’t true.

Is there any possibility that Kraft had anything to do with this and didn’t want to share the spotlight with BB as a first ballot electee?

That would be so horrible for the Pats, especially after Kraft quickly admitted his mistake with Mayo and corrected it.
I don't think Kraft has the influence over the HoF selection committee to dictate the voting. If he did he would have gotten in last year.

However, I do think the voters a) did account for delaying Bill the same way they delayed Kraft and b) they did not want Kraft and Bill going in the same year.

Once Drake Maye overtook Stafford in the MVP odds with one game to go, it took a meaningless, stat-padding victory against the 3-14 Cardinals for Stafford to suddenly take back the lead. That win neither helped the Rams win the division, nor helped Stafford break some record, nothing. The Rams won 37-20, while at the same time Drake led the Pats to a destruction of the Jets, 42-10. As soon as a Pats player threatened to win the award, the media went in full force endorsing Stafford.

The same thing happened to Brady when he was leading the league in TD's and Yards at age 44, and yet they gave Rodgers a second consecutive MVP, which he didn't deserve at all. When Brady had the highest efficiency in the league, they gave it to Matt Ryan, when he had the highest volume, they gave it to Rodgers. If Wentz didn't go down to an injury, Brady wouldn't have won it in 2018 either.

The bias against anything connected with the Pats, both past and present, is so palpable, the only way for a Pats fan to have a peace of mind is to completely ignore anything related to the media, predictions, hot takes, accolades, and just focus on what the team is doing. I never thought that any SB run would be as sweet as the Deflagate revenge tour, but this year's is just as sweet. They can prevent Drake from having their MVP award, but they're going to be powerless to stop him from getting the most important one, in less than two weeks.
To be fair - Brady didn't lead in efficiency in 2016 (Ryan did) and he also missed 4 games for "reasons." In 2021 Rodgers led on efficiency and wasn't that far behind on volume. 2017 was a bit of a make-up for 2016 / absurdity of Deflate-gate / astonishment at 28-3 to a degree as it wasn't Brady's best year at all.

I don't think Brady was screwed out of any MVPs. I will say that Peyton Manning did not deserve 2008 or 2009 so his total feels inflated to me. But we shouldn't go full victim-mode here. No need for it.

Everyone is going to be focused on who did not make it. Thus, it will take away from who actually made it. So the HOF is kind of screwing over those with the honor to make it.

Shows how selfish it is to make votes about yourself and not the record. You reject greatness and drown out the others who could be celebrated for making it.

Because voting isn't done by raising your hand.. It's done by ballot submission and the tallies aren't done by the 50 voters..
I thought Sando's mentioning the way the point system works was interesting, too. Like they don't just vote "yes" or "no" on each. It's a point system and they can spread it around among other candidates and that can result in someone not getting enough points. It sounded weird.

This is a really embarrassing day for the NFL. You'd think even Roger would have his limits and question all the people that didn't vote for BB before finalizing the votes.

Nonsense. Kraft has been wrongly omitted from the Hall of Fame for years, so it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t have any sway with voters or he would have been in a long time ago.

Borges call in live right now with Zo and Bertrand …… word salad dancing!!!!!! Not admitting he voted “No” but stating based on region he was the second nominatior for Bb (was first for Vinny and RKK and 'he couldn’t do a third')

Just a clarification that I am sure Pats fans know, but the balls were not under inflated, they just had a lowered pressure due to the IGL and cold temps.

The word deflategate is so misleading.
I keep a screen up in my car which shows me my tire pressure all the time because I got tired of that stupid little exclamation point warning sign popping up. On cold days my tire pressure can range anywhere from 29 to 34. Within a matter of hours. Friction changes it, the temp fluctuations change it, it changes constantly. Every person who believes some grand Deflategate conspiracy is just further proof of how dumb people are. Like hopelessly stupid.

Crazy how this backfired on the "no" voters. Probably thought they would have at least some level of public supports because "Patriots/Belichick bad", but instead it's unanimous outrage in support of Bill.

Borges isn't even professional media anymore. He has no outlet.

I had to turn it off (which is not a bad idea anyway)...

RB: "... I voted yes for ..." (whoever it was they were talking about, TO I think)
MB: "OK, then did you vote 'yes' for Bill?"
RB: "They don't want us to say who we vote for" ....

What a clown

Ron Borges is on 98.5 defending the committee's vote and is rambling like a feeble idiot.

I just looked at his stats from that year. That seems like a huge swing and miss from the voters.

He certainly communicates with them. And he certainly reached out or had someone reach out to plead his case.
It’s not beyond the pale for him to tell them he didn’t want to go in the same year as belichick that it would take attention away from each of them to be lumped together, and he should go first because of his age and penalizing BB for the gates would be a good excuse.
He only needed to convince 10.

Bill was punished for Spygate. Why should he continue to be punished?

And....the voters should come out and explain their reasoning. Many will disagree but at least respect them for not being rats.

I also think Tom Brady should come out and defend him.

Every time I see that gauge light up I say “damnit tom Brady was here”

So look…should he be in? 100% yes.

Did he do it to himself by being an insufferable prick to everyone any chance he got?

Also yes.

Belichick wasn't "an insufferable prick to everyone". That's the sort of ignorant hyperbole that is the problem. It's well documented that BB had a certain standards he expected of people. He was very open with those standards. It's also known that Belichick kept his charity work quiet. It wasn't until Jim Brown told people about Belichick helping him that people learned that BB would regularly go with Brown to prisons and help with the AMER-I-CAN program.

The MEDIA was a necessary evil and Bill felt it was a waste of time to have to parade up in front of them. Why? Because most of them have an understanding of football that is grade school level. So, to him, most of the questions they asked showed their lack of knowledge and he felt it was beneath him. He also had disdain for them because he's seen first hand how they make it their goal to exploit incidents involving players and coaches whenever they have the chance. Tearing them down for minor things and never waiting until the facts come out.

The reality is that there are plenty in the media that think that their s**t don't stink. We've seen it time and again. Ron Borges. Dan Shaughnessy, and John Tomase are just 3 of them. Let's be serious. Ron Borges should have been disqualified from the HOF Committee for his assault on Michael Katz. John Tomase shouldn't have a job anymore for his attempt to slander the Pats. Shaughnessy's issues are long and well known.

You claiming that BB went out of his way to be insufferable to everyone is John Tomase level BS.
