By the way, just so everyone's aware of what we're actually talking about here.

We're talking about the Hall of Fame, not the GOAT or whatever. Is he a better coach than Don ****ing Coryell? Marv Levy? Yes. Then he should be in.

We now live in a world where Bill Belichick and Rodney Harrison aren't hall of famers, but Terrell Davis and Don Coryell *are*. And Shadeur Sanders is a pro bowler.

Perhaps the decline of the NFL is accelerating more than I realize.
Some of these guys voted in Roger Craig over Belichick and others just last week.

Heck, Craig doesn't even deserve it more than Stanley Morgan.

It's the ongoing anti-Patriots bias of the HOF (Belichick, Kraft, Harrison, any player from the Pat's dynasty). It would not surprise me if Brady and Gronk fell short on their first try.

Yeah, like Spygate was a real rule break that the Patriots did, but #1 other teams did it too and #2 it wasn't what everyone thinks it is. Almost 20 years later people still think it's about filming signals.

We got a 25 year sentence for a parking ticket.
Multiple other teams were doing it. Including the Jets in the same game that Mangini turned the Pats in.

Especially deflategate. That was 100% made up ********.
Spygate was a rule violation and not nearly as bad as it was made out to be, but Bill knew what he was doing. He knew that camera was where they didnt want it, but he thought the language of the rule was ambiguous enough that he could get away with it.

A rule violation that the JETS were reported for previously and the league never did anything. A rule that the Jets were violating in the same game and didn't get punished for it.

Selective enforcement of the rules is why the NFL, under Goodell, has gone downhill.

The thing is, Polian has no shown. While the other owners were screaming no mas with deflategate, he was pushing it. Harbaugh was part of it too. Stephen A. Smith tried to shame Polian this morning and vilify him, but it's just ridiculous to think Polian cares. Polian is sitting around laughing like the Penguin from Batman at doing Belichick dirty. He doesn't care how he looks and he's just like some posters here who don't care they are basing everything on personal animus than any reason for facts.
He's a more malignant Eddie Haskell of the NYJFL.

Don't anyone here think for second if the Pats start sniffing (and I think they will) the type of success that the BB/TB12 teams did...Vrabel will start catching rounds as well. So will Maye.

It literally will be a redux.
This is right. The press blames BB and their excuse will be exposed and they will exhibit no shame.

A silver lining to this is that Bill Polian is getting blasted so much right now the poor **** can't even remember what he had for breakfast this morning
Which brings up another issue. At 83 years old does Polian have the mental acuity to contribute to the HoF voting process?

How can you not remember voting for someone?

He is either dodging the issue or is Joe Biden 2.0.

Either way his role as a upstanding, responsible HoF voter is compromised.

It's funny that some bring up Deflategate at all since, even if you believed it to be a real thing, that dumbass Ted Wells said Belichick had zero involvement.
No doubt, but for people looking for any way to discredit anyone who was pivotal to our 2 decade run they'll say that slightly underinflated balls benefited Belichick.

Because, as we all know, a ball that is not 100% inflated will magically account for all of Brady's career yards, completions, and touchdowns.

Everyone is going to be focused on who did not make it. Thus, it will take away from who actually made it. So the HOF is kind of screwing over those with the honor to make it.

If that happens it will be fascinating to see what they **** up this time around.

"BREAKING: Patriots QB Drake Maye may have broken league rules limiting how frequently players are allowed to pray for help."

I was looking at TBD and for the most part, Bills fans don’t like this snub of BB either.

One of them mentioned something that I really hope isn’t true.

Is there any possibility that Kraft had anything to do with this and didn’t want to share the spotlight with BB as a first ballot electee?

That would be so horrible for the Pats, especially after Kraft quickly admitted his mistake with Mayo and corrected it.

If Kraft wanted to dispel that rumor, he could put out a statement admonishing the HOF and announcing a Belichick statue to be unveiled next year.

He could, but he won’t.

Once Drake Maye overtook Stafford in the MVP odds with one game to go, it took a meaningless, stat-padding victory against the 3-14 Cardinals for Stafford to suddenly take back the lead. That win neither helped the Rams win the division, nor helped Stafford break some record, nothing. The Rams won 37-20, while at the same time Drake led the Pats to a destruction of the Jets, 42-10. As soon as a Pats player threatened to win the award, the media went in full force endorsing Stafford.

The same thing happened to Brady when he was leading the league in TD's and Yards at age 44, and yet they gave Rodgers a second consecutive MVP, which he didn't deserve at all. When Brady had the highest efficiency in the league, they gave it to Matt Ryan, when he had the highest volume, they gave it to Rodgers. If Wentz didn't go down to an injury, Brady wouldn't have won it in 2018 either.

The bias against anything connected with the Pats, both past and present, is so palpable, the only way for a Pats fan to have a peace of mind is to completely ignore anything related to the media, predictions, hot takes, accolades, and just focus on what the team is doing. I never thought that any SB run would be as sweet as the Deflagate revenge tour, but this year's is just as sweet. They can prevent Drake from having their MVP award, but they're going to be powerless to stop him from getting the most important one, in less than two weeks.

Just a clarification that I am sure Pats fans know, but the balls were not under inflated, they just had a lowered pressure due to the IGL and cold temps.

The word deflategate is so misleading.

If Sando was a voter and was in the room how can he say he doesn't know the voting? Not I can't talk about it but wishy washy trying to explain/justify.. Probably voted against him.

Because voting isn't done by raising your hand.. It's done by ballot submission and the tallies aren't done by the 50 voters..
