That was a BS story that Tom Jackson started. There was no truth to that. Also, Vrabel and BB still have a good relationship. Just because Vrabel wants his own identity and dies not want to be known for the BB dynasty, does not mean he doesn’t care for Bill.

Humans decide.

Barry Bonds should have been in the MLB HOF. But he was an ******* and took steroids. Now the fact that everyone else he played against also probably did too should factor in but it doesn’t.

Kraft gets so much hate from this fanbase when ever since he bought they went from a middle tier franchise that went to 1 SB to the premier franchise that went to 11 more SB's under 3 separate HC's.

This. He gets in next year and they get to say "he got in and that's all that matters" and they get their one last "screw you" to him this year.

Then he's a HOF'er, he gets his nice sappy induction, we all reminisce on the old times, share the videos forever, comment on how good a job they did on his bust (no not that one), and yada yada and then this whole saga just becomes a factoid of "remember how petty they were that one year".

I have never got the disdain for Bill. When he was coaching the team, we all loved the way he dealt with the media, so many in here loved it, called the media scum etc but now suddenly he should bow down to them . At least during Deflategate, he stuck up and by Brady. What did Kraft do ? He threw him to the wolves and wouldn’t fight for his star QB. How quickly some of us forget. I remember Bills press conference when he tried to explain the law of gas and his iconic line from ‘my cousin Vinny’ !!!! Bill will always be someone I stick up for. Without him we wouldn’t have been so lucky for so long !!!

I think he lost a lot of people and credibility with the Butler SB situation.

It showed he was willing to put personal BS over team winning which is supposed to be the opposite of his message.

Never getting a real answer or resolution to that was a really bad taste. How it all ended in NE also didn't help his case I suppose.

I still like BB but I certainly don't feel how I did 10 years ago.. But still the best coach ever imo.

I'm not looking to relitigate this, but the sentiment at the time was that all the heat was on Belichick at the start of Deflategate and he went up in his press conference and said "go talk to Tom" and put all the spotlight on him.

Kraft meanwhile said he disagreed with the investigation and said it was unfair. He just didn't sue the league in a futile effort because he already said he would respect the investigation.

Also it's been widely reported that Brady's camp was pissed at how Bill handled that.

Look at the penalties, they were not penalties, they were draconian attempts to hamstring the Pats.

What makes sense about confiscating the higher pick in a particular round, if the Pats traded for a higher pick in that round?

For me it’s the way he treated Brady, the way he put himself above the team at the end, and candidly the creepy assed girlfriend situation and UNC debacle.

I wasn’t one who loved the way he treated press. Plenty of times I said out loud “can you just answer a ****ing question and maybe not blow snot rockets at the podium?”

You aren’t entirely wrong about Kraft…but I do think any other owner and we don’t have 10 superbowl appearances in that span.

Some folks here have suggested he’d be petty in his speech. I don’t like the guy but I don’t believe he would. Too much reverence for the hall and history of the game.

I AM still fascinated to see if Kraft makes it. Stories will write themselves.

I don’t care about his personal life, that is his business and it isn’t for me to judge. I do not believe owners are more responsible for the success than a coach and players. Kraft has pissed me off with his treatment of Bill and that hatchet job of that documentary.
I wasn’t happy that Brady left like that but there is more to the story than we know. And Kraft willingly let Brady go but it seems Bill gets more of the hate than old Bob !!!
Anyway , keeping him out of the HOF is pathetic and childish and vindictive!!!
