Patriots Pregame Thread Pre-Game thread - 2025 AFC Championship at Denver Broncos

Pregame Discussion ahead of the LIVE game day discussion thread. The actual Game Thread will Open an hour ahead of kickoff.

AFCCG. And to think where they were after week 1.

What a treat it’s been to watch them evolve.
 
Our D has been great, but one thing to consider going into this game.

We have gone against two really banged up, and thus bad Olines.

Denver’s Oline is by the best we will see in our playoff run to date.

It won’t be as easy as the last two weeks.

Denver's offensive line is excellent. Patriots secondary is going to need to play their best game of the year.

Conversely, they cannot run the ball, which is weird. Maybe it's a Sean Payton issue.
 
If Maye and the Oline have another day with strip sacks and fumbles they won't win.
This game is on the road. Crowd noise. Crooked refs. Oh yeah the altitude will be an issue. Especially in the 4th quarter
Donks D has a day more of rest
Stidham won't be called on to do much.
I don't care that he hasn't played since preseason. I've seen bad QBs excell again and again versus the Pats.
Let's hope that Vrabel's team can rise above. He already broke the Tua streak.
Why not break this losing streak next?

And evolve they have, this defense is doing all sorts of things we didn't see for most of the season. Vrabel is using everyone, keeping them fresh, and attacking quarterbacks while simultaneously confusing them. They have won both playoff games without Maye having to play his best. They are on house money and looking really good. What an amazing season.

I thought JK would be back against Buff (thought I read that). Will he be back on Sunday?
They ran the ball much better with him.
He averaged 77 yds at 5 yards a clip in the 10 games he played.

Can’t wait till Sunday. I have a hard time believing Stidham is going to move the ball on the defense. I’d expect to throw a ton of pressure on him and the back end picking him off 2 to 3 times. Houston’s defense is/was going to be the toughest defense we face this throughout the playoffs.

Sean Payton is no nick caley or greg roman. I wouldnt underestimate him having a good workable game plan vs our defense.

If Stidham won’t be called on to do much how do you expect Denver to stay in the game? Our run defense, when we are fully healthy is excellent, probably the best in the NFL. They aren’t running on us.
 
Someone posted in another thread that whatever happens from here on is gravy considering pre season expectations, I agree.
Would be unreal to claim 7th, but I am already excited about next season and beyond and watching this team grow and evolve into the force they will be become.
Are we blessed as Patriot fans or what.
