Yep, agreed on the skills. Our man in blue has been making a decent impact in the beginning, because I haven't put a single point into specials. Specials are reliant on your core skills to be effective, so it's smart to avoid them until you have both built up your points and learned enough about the game and the way your team plays it to pick the right specials.

Oh one more question on training and intensity.
The options are
Relaxed $10/day +15 en.
Normal $75/day +9 en.
Intense $200/day +3 en.

I assume I should pick intense at the start? What's the difference? Do you get stats faster by going intense?

Also tactical settings for play intensity has:
Hard
Normal
Relaxed

Should I pick hard or what? I've currently got it on normal.

Fair warning to people reading this thread (man it is a shame I cannot update the OP) if you create a player and join a team you won't be able to join the patsfans.com team unless I trade for you and I'm running out of non patsfans.com player characters to trade.

With 4 GMs including myself you should just be able to post here in this thread and get signed to a new contract on this team.

Yeah, start at intense if you have been signed by a team, otherwise normal is preferable. There are slight stat boosts for training at higher intensity, like at lv. 5 a linebacker's speed has these boosts: relaxed gives me a boost of .38 per day, normal .41 per day and intense gives me a .44 per day boost.

As far as tactical settings I would suggest asking your owner and then go into advanced settings where you can change each individually according to how the owner wants to run the team.

Just post your character name here and you should have a contract offer from the New England Burning Pride before you know it. If you're on a team, then you'll likely need to find a way to get yourself released.

We're equal in rushing and superior in rush defense. In everything else, they're better. Let's hope for a low-scoring, ball-control affair.

Also, I'm thinking that I might set Pietro to play aggressive man coverage, since we're likely going to need to win the turnover battle to have a real shot at this. That sound like a good idea?

Nice win! Slow day for Cav Trooper, with only 1 tackle, but the D pitched a shutout, so I'm happy!

We not only shut them out, they also only had 3 first downs the WHOLE GAME.

AD train had 6 tackles which is solid. I'm not proud of the 2 missed tackles but I had him set to big hits so I'm not too surprised.

Kicky McBoot had a perfect day. 4/4 field goals and 1/1 extra points. I'm making sure to put a lot of points into "Automatic" which increases his accuracy on short kicks. I think a guaranteed 3 points when we get in close field goal range is a good asset to have.
