What's this the third year in a row where they have drafted a RB in the 2nd round.Good player, dumb pick.
They also have Chris Davis as well who can return punts and kicks. It makes no sense taking a RB again for them in the 2nd round. They have alot more needs then a backup RB and someone who can return kicks.
Hmm.. Nice to know you didn't do your homework regarding the Titans roster. If you had, you'd know that White and Henry were the only RBs they had on their roster worth anything since Chris Brown signed with the Texans.
Also, you'd know that Chris Henry was pitiful on Kick Returns and is why they resorted to using Michael Griffin there. Henry also missed 4 games with a suspension last year and another 3 where the Titans sat him out.
Johnson will be much more dynamic on kick-offs than Henry and will allow the Titans to not risk their start youngster in Griffin.
Johnson gives the Titans another weapon to use on Punt returns besides Chris Davis. Johnson ALSO provides similar versatility to Kevin Faulk, with the ability to line-up in the back-field or split out wide.
So, taking Johnson does several things.
1) Give the Titans a change of pace back to compliment White.
2) Gets Michael Griffen off the kick return team, allowing him to focus on playing CB
3) Give the Titans a player similar to Kevin Faulk.
4) Increases the over-all talent of the Titans RB position.
Hmm.. Chris Davis who runs a 4.5 compared to Chris Johnson who runs a 4.24.
Davis is very comparable to Welker. Meaning he should be good on punts. Johnson, on the other hand, is likely to be Hester like on kicks and Punts.
I wasn't about to reach (like yourself) for a player or take a player who I didn't feel fit the Titans roster.
I took what I felt was the best VALUE available for the Titans.
OH, and they don't have as many holes as you'd like to believe. I actually have done research on them and am not just talking out my arse on the picks.
I haven't been following this much, but looking at the pick list, let me say that I think Buffalo's winning.
Obviously you haven't done your research if you want to draft another RB for the Titans. This team has plently of needs, how about a WR, or some help on defense. Chris Johnson is a good player, just not a need for the Titans. Just because someone runs a 4.24 doesn't mean he is the next Devin Hester. Look at Bethel Johnson. In the 2nd round you need a guy who can step in and play, you want to draft someone just to return kicks and punts. Your too caught up on the Devin Hester thing, he's a once in 20 years return man. Face it you blew the pick!

Justin McCariens is awful. He cannot be counted on to do anything except drop passes.
They can add another RB either later in the draft or through free agency. There is a ton of available RB's you could add in rounds 5-7. Not in round 2. Peter Warrick was a great return man in college too, how did he fare in the pros? Not good. There are alot more pressing needs then a return man and a 3rd running back. Also what wide out her helps Vince Young, Justin Gage, Roydell Williams, Chris Davis, Justin McCareins, Brandon Jones, Michael Williams, Paul Williams? That have a bunch of number 2 and 3 wr's. Why not grab a Early Doucet, orgo DT and get a Dre Moore or Marcus Harrison. You do not draft 3rd running backs in the 2nd round.
Thanks BP-Nice pick for whoever took Charles. He was the one I was going to draft (even sent mavfan a PM asking him to pick him if I wasn't online). I've been reading up on him and watched some clips on Youtube - man he's good.
Thanks BP-
I like Charles a lot. Speed to burn. Nice slashing style runner. gained 870- odd yards as a true freshman for the Longhorns National Champ squad. Average over 6 yards a carry a 3 years, and totaled 39 touchdowns. I think he has gotten lost on this board, as he isn't a Patriot "need".
Mike-
Give it up. It is just a game. DB has defended his pick countless times. And it is his pick. I debated on whether to take Johnson w/ my pick, but decided that a rotational back (Charles w/ Edge), was better then Johnson, who I view as a third down back(just from readings as I have not seen E Carolina play).
On with the game...
