Skimpy return. I see the logic in trading him, for his sake and, to a much lesser degree, for the team's; but they should and could have waited until they got at least a reasonable return. A JAG safety (other positions are in far greater need of backup types) and a tail-end draft pick are not a reasonable return. Somebody talked themselves into this jackassery. If AJ Brown suddenly ages out , as WR's often do, we are going to wish we still had Boutte around: not a direct replacement, but a very useful option in such a situation.
