Patriots owner Robert Kraft had a brief interaction with the media this morning, and hinted that things are apparently moving along with a new contract for quarterback Tom Brady.
According to a couple of Tweets from media members, Kraft said "We're cooking." - referring to Brady's potential new deal.
This is good news coming off of this past weekend's report that the two played golf together Sunday morning, which was clearly a positive sign that despite media reports to the contrary, the two are on good terms.
Other reports have suggested that it makes sense for the Patriots to find a way to reach a deal with Brady before guys like Peyton Manning and Drew Brees receive new contracts. This makes sense since it allows New England to give Brady a raise, without potentially having to deal with having to compare deals with two other top tier quarterbacks.
Needless to say hopefully things continue to "cook" and we see a contract completed prior to the start of the season - which will finally put what has been quite a media circus behind us.
