Texans Potentially a Trade Partner with Patriots For Boutte?

Can't wait to see how this saga unfolds.

We are divided on this and the media has chosen Boutte as a guy they've been wanting to get rid of since his rookie season.

I don't see this debate any differently than the months long discussion of whether Brown should be traded for.

Why not 8 or 9? Dorner and DeGennaro are probably about comparable to Chism. Surely, we don't want to lose them.

I would think it a serious error to have 7 WR's on the 53-man roster after the trade deadline. There are simply better uses for the roster spot.

We are in a position that comes rarely in New England. For the 5-6 WR roster spots, we have NINE to choose from. To be clear, who would be upset if DeGennaro was on the roster as our #6 developmental WR (similar to Chism last year).

I would. He would've easily passed through waivers unclaimed; he's not ready to contribute in a regular-season game; and his roster spot could've gone to somebody at a position that needed help. That also means that we would've lost Two WRs who could've helped us This year. Hell yeah I'd be upset.

I am certainly not planting my flag on the Boutte hill.
I am all for moving players to improve the team in the short term or longer term.
I am simply questioning if moving Boutte improves the team, especially if the return is a day 3 pick.
certainly this can run right up to the trade deadline, and injuries to the Pats players or players around the league will weigh heavily on any decisions.

I think the poster that referenced the Brown trade was spot on. Many here were fine with a trade for Brown for a #1 pick. no one was in favor for more than that. as it were, the #1 pick is in 2028, and the #5 rd pick is in 2027.

again...Boutte, Pop, Hollins, Chism, Williams. I am fine with moving any of them to improve the team

You have planted the flag there for the last 2 months, not sure why you are changing now.

We all like Boutte, however many of us don't understand how he will see the snaps he wants in a crowded wr room, and question whether resources might be better spent in a different direction. Especially if we can get an other team to make a good offer for him.

You already did, now you’re backtracking.

They’re not getting a high draft pick for a player who has never reached 600 yards receiving and needs a new contract. That was a pipe dream by the overrating homers.

If the Pats truly think they’re “not a deep team” and want to add bodies after cutdown day they’ll need to create roster spots to absorb these players. They don’t have the luxury to hold out for a better pick.

If they have a deal for Boutte, they should take it now.

OK, to perhaps break up this lover's quarrel, how about posing the question this way:
Assuming Boutte is a solid NFL receiver, not a star and not a JAG, then what position on the current team would we trade him for a similar quality player? Guard? CB? Edge?

As always you’ve got nothing but made up BS.
Its all true.

Boutte should send you something for Christmas after he gets paid by his new team.

None of it is true. You make things up, say I said them, I didn’t. I ask you to prove it and you go into witness protection then a few months later you bring it up again as if I hadn’t embarrassed you.

Lying isnt your strong suite.

What “lover’s quarrel?”

CB is deep. Edge has Landry coming back eventually. ILB could be in play if Muma or Jacobs are hurt. Guard seems like a logical option.

no even 1 step of back track
I have maintained the same position consistently
Boutte is one of the teams top 2-4 WR's
moving him for a 2027 6th is not good value for the Pats.
perhaps a player to fill in some depth this year at IOL, ILB or CB/S

no even 1 step of back track
