The old adage of football being a 'GAME OF INCHES" really played out this past Sunday.

On paper, the Patriots and Texans each had four scoring drives, with the biggest difference being that the Pats were able to get TDs instead of FGs....and all of those offensive TDs came down to INCHES

1.) Pop Douglass TD reception on 4th down. If you watch the replay the defenisve back got his hand on the ball and was able to slightly change the trajectory. Fortunately Pop came up with the catch and the TD. Think about how the game would have changed with a fourth down misfire there?

2.) Steffon Diggs TD reception - Drake had such a TIGHT WINDW to sneak this into Diggs and what an INCREDIBLE play for Diggs to hold onto it. That play had a very low degree of success. (to be fair I believe this was first down so they would have at least had another two cracks at it)

3.) Boutte TD reception - I mean, we've all seen the replays. I'm sure everyone else was like me with their jaws dropped when Boutte was able to snag this third down, late game TD. The degree of difficulty was INSANE but he DID IT!!!!!

Just goes to show how this game could have been completely different and all because of some VERY close plays.

Game would also have changed except for the very picky penalty on the Texans' would-have-been touchdown that became a field goal. 10-7 instead of 14-7. That penalty happened because their defensive player playing as fullback got his hand to the ground about a half second too late.

Crazy! But with respect to Drake's passes succeeding by inches, he's been making those throws all year.
