The team is guaranteed to pick up Gonzo's 5th year option this spring.

Boutte will be a free agent after 2026. It would be nice if the team locked both of them up with extensions this coming off-season. But, the player has to want that as well.
They're both only 23...

The addition of the 17th game and extra playoff team with limited padded practices might have been good for the NFLs pockets but my god has it been bad for the product the first month of the season the standard is way off of it almost like a month of pre season in the regular season now and by week 16-17-18 half of the league is piecing what's left of the corpse of their roster together.

Everyone is breaking down, imagine how bad it's going to be when they eventually add the 18th game.

Boutte is a weird one. He makes awesome, clutch plays but he's not exactly high volume. Hopefully that lack of volume will keep him relatively inexpensive.
He can sign a team-friendly, 3 year deal if he wants, and still be only 26, 27 at the end of it.

Catch didn’t survive the ground, looked like Boutte was stunned and lost it then the ball was batted away.
The catch DID survive the ground. Watch it again. He has control while on the ground and then loses it and it's hit away.

He had more control of that ball than Hopkins did on the sidelines.

Right. He’s a good piece at the right price but force big cost we should do better.
The reality is Maye makes receivers better.

He never had full control that was not the problem with that play. The fact that he got tackled and still almost caught it and would have if the defender Didn't swat it away it impressive
Worst part is that being tackled before the catch caused his head to hit the turf and resulted in his injury.

It didn’t fit the definition but tackling him before the catch was truly a hit on a defenseless receiver, as he was unprepared and unable to protect himself.

iIt is finally. I am not blaming him. I feel many times they have “robbed” him of a 300 yard game by getting too conservative in the second half of games. There has been several games this year where he he had over 200 yards in the first half and then under 100 yards in the second half But that isn’t on him in most cases
just win, i dont care about 200 or 300 yards personal stats. is a team game. if its a balanced attack mixing in the run and limiting his yards so what?

That last paragraph speaks to why he is such a team guy. The team took a risk for him and he's showing his appreciation by being the leader he is. Also, it's one of those happy twists of fate that Godwin chose to re-sign with the Bucs.

So you don't have to click through:

“I remember it was kind of like a we had to figure it out process. But when they told me I had an opportunity to come here, I jumped at it. Teams don't really like to sign guys over 30 just coming off of ACL, so it's just more motivation for me to come out and be myself.”

But these injuries would be happening in a 16 game season because they happened in the first 15 c

I agree. Besides, why should BAL be expected to beat us without their QB?
It's way more than that. Ravens are in win-now mode, up against the cap, and are going to lose key FAs this offseason as a result.

They've choked in the playoffs every year since 2012, this is going to be a losing season for them, and the QB doesn't like him.

He's lost the team, you can see it out there. There's WAY too much talent with or without Jackson out there to be a 7-8 football team.

When it came to injured players, the Baltimore game was meaningless if Buffalo runs the table (for the division). May have had something to do with them keeping him out
Buffalo can run the table but they don’t win the division unless the Pats lose another game.

Who cares? It’s about winning.
The strategy that results in a win was always the correct strategy.
Sure you can get more stats by playing risky football and you will lose games because if it. Thats dumb.

To me, the only “finally” is we finally got to 12 wins and 2 more.
Then we need 3 or 4 more.
**** stats.

Do yourself a favor -- run and hide for a while. Attempting to double down on ANY of the crap you posted in that infernal game day thread is beyond a lost cause.
He posted some positive stuff as well, to be fair.

I think the lack of practice contributes to these injuries, these guys aren't prepared for the season like they used to be and they're bigger and faster than ever.

You can't prepare your body for a gruelling season by running around in shorts at half speed with no contact, the less they've practiced the more injuries have happened.

I suppose the fact most of the fields are basically just typically turf stuck on top of concrete now doesn't help either, a lot more knee injuries.

But that’s also not tied to the 17 game schedule.
