That was a solid all around win. The defense came to play and dominated this game for the most part.
Marcus Jones gave us a huge spark with his punt return TD.
And our offense came out firing on all cylinders to give us a 30 to 7 lead by half time.
Sadly the offense struggled in the second half and performed poorly in the redzone, coming away with only 3 points in the 2nd half.
I also saw too many instances of Maye getting very little time to throw due to poor pass protection. We're already missing Campbell and Wilson.
Our usually stout run defense got gashed at times, I think we're sorely missing Tonga and Milt Williams.
Even our mostly reliable kicker missed a FG tonight.
The important takeaway is we got the stops when we needed them, we stayed healthy, and we're now 11-2.
Also Drake Maye missed out on 300 again! He had it in the bag save for an unfortunate offensive line penalty. That negated what was a beautiful 30 yard TD pass to Henry. Looks like Drake was never meant to be a Spartan, but he was meant to play for the Patriots.
What can I say but 11-2 is a great place to be going into the bye. Hopefully our guys can heal up and get healthy before they return for the stretch run.
Also let's hope that Denver stumbles somewhere along the way. They still have to play catch up and getting the #1 seed and first round bye would be huge for us!
Can't really complain. We have the best record in the NFL right now. I don't care about SOS, I'm just enjoying our football right now. The haters who watch our game recaps in hopes of seeing us lose are going to be disappointed yet again!
