Big Deal/No Big Deal - 3 Road Games in a Row? No Big Deal for THIS Team!

I travel for work, A LOT. And some of my itineraries leave people gape-mouthed. A couple weeks ago I did 30,000 miles in 12 days, traveling throughout India and Southeast Asia. I know I’m not playing a football game at the end of it, but it does take its mental and physical toll. In this case, for the team, I think it will be a sign of great MENTAL toughness if they are able to go out and perform well on Sunday. I think and I’m hoping that MV will have them focused and up for it.
It’s different though. Players fly out on Saturday, home on Sunday night and have (usually) film day on Monday and Tuesday off.
The toll of that doesn’t add up like 30,000 miles in 12 days.

True, but they're also getting physically pounded during their business trip, whereas for me it's usually just a mental pounding. Both are tough.

Was looking at Regular season only, but your point is excellent except for how the 4 game post season wound up ... 3-1

NFL players have the best recovery, treatment and trainers available to them for recovery. It's up to them as professionals to take care of thier bodies as best as they can. They are essentially independent contractors.

Yes and that does not mean that three road game wins in a row is not a significant mental and physical challenge.

Oh definitely agreed. The mental aspect players have said themselves is the hardest part.

Can't believe I waited until the 3rd page until someone mentioned the Patriots did it one other time other than 1961.

How can anyone forget the 3 wins from 3 straight road games in 1985?!

This thread puts into perspective how difficult that was.

I mean the owner was punched hard in the face by an opposing player during that three-game stretch!

Sullivan didn't belong out there and was lucky that there were people between him and Millon.

That was a great run but ended when the Pats faced the best defense in NYFL history in the SB.

The Pats were the only team to score any points against the Bears in the playoffs that year.

During the season the Pats played the Bears and only crossed midfield once (a Craig James 75 TD run).

And look at us now. We've come a long way baby.

I should have noticed. Great work putting that together btw.

wrong thread

I think this was an epic win for the team... playing trips on the road is never an easy task, which has been born out by past results...

Think I am going to edit the thread...

2 homes games next.

Browns
Falcons

The Pat's may lose one them.

The Pats are 2-0 in the AFCE, with both wins coming on the road, meaning the only road division game they have left on the schedule is at the NY JETES!

Winning division games, on the road, is always YUGE!
