DK Metcalf officially requests a trade (UPDATE: He's a Steeler)

I think Jefferson is $35 mill a year so putting Metcalf in that category is definitely an overpay but at this point we need to pay that crappy team in a cold climate tax. Metcalf would instantly push the other guys into better positions on the depth chart and be our first guy who can win a one on one matchup since Edelman or Gronk.
I’m greedy I think we need two new wrs.
Metcalf and Hunter would be wild.

I still think back to when we could of just drafted him yet we traded the pick to Seattle for peanuts.

Can we get one of the WRs we were suppose to draft maybe it breaks some kind of draft curse if we right this wrong.

Excuse me while I order my customized Metcalf Jersey.

well I know how this ends.

Those poor boys are too young and naive to know what they’re missing.

Agree . Have to overpay on trade compensation and an extension. To get him.
Would like to see them do so

I remember this.
Metcalf did awful in change of direction at the combine, didn’t he have the slowest 3 cone in history.

This reads to me like they have been offered a third but they want another pick.
First and third

I was thinking that perhaps a 3rd rounder plus first round pick swap would get it done but you would have to be confident that Hunter/Carter would not be there because I would rather have either of them plus the third plus the 30m to spend elsewhere.

3rd rounder this year and a 2nd round pick swap next year gets it done

I would even consider next year’s second rounder to get it done (if he would sign an extension)
But that is the most

Like Sam Jay in the bedroom Ah Hells Naw

I've been pretty much saying yes to anything but that is an insane ask.
Sorry people he ain't coming here. Offer them all our picks for him and he still would not be moving to NE. "Nothing to see here move on".

All of those things are true, but I don't think it would move the needle on this team.....this kind of trade makes sense when you are one or two pieces away, it doesn't make sense when the entire roster needs to be rebuilt.

And that is without getting into DK as a player.

...and the guy needs to be hammered and we need to be slutty and easy to get laid.

Metcalf reportedly wants to play for a team that can contend right away. No trade can be done unless he agrees to a long term deal. Odds are good the Patriots are not going to land him.

Always was too good to be true.

To be fair, Metcalf was the biggest enigma the year he was drafted. His 3 cone was Brady-esque if I recall. He was viewed by many as boom or bust. I also think if Harry went someplace else, his career would have had a different path.

It was far from a slam dunk to say that Metcalf was a no-brainer. Highly debated back then. Any of these talking head types in the media that try to present it otherwise now are just trying to be on the right side of history.
