If $18M of salary is converted into a signing bonus, there is a $9M savings in the 2026 cap.

I agree that is not a long-term savings.
I explained to you that Diggs had the 2nd highest 2026 cap hit after Milton Williams.

I sounded the alarm weeks ago that Diggs was on shaky ground.

They gave up a 4th for Randy Moss...

I don’t know why I feel like AJ Brown would be a bust here…he played for Vrabs previously and didn’t like him. Brown has obviously a long history of being a malcontent and when he isn’t getting the ball enough or gets down on things he checks out ….we just don’t need anymore of those guys
Huh... he didn't like Vrabel or Vrabel didn't like him? Neither of those is true.

Cameras captured Vrabel getting up from the draft table, shaking his head, and walking away from the war room shortly after the trade was announced... a clear sign of his displeasure. Just days before the trade, Vrabel had publicly stated, “not as long as I'm the head coach,” indicating he did not expect Brown to be traded under his leadership.

Brown has some juice left in him. I wouldn't break the bank in traded compensation, I wouldn't extend/rework his contract more than a few years. He is still the same WR he's always been.

I think he is referring to Brown saying when he was a rookie he didn't like Vrabel. That changed but he did say it and some people are holding onto the fact that he said it as a rook even though he also said he has a lot of love for Vrabel.

I mean… he pretty much said he wants to come here on the Edelman and Gronk podcast. Seems like he hasn’t been coy at all.

IMO, if Diggs were $10M (which the patriots could have changed it to), he still would have been cut or traded.
=================
We simply have a different view of the cap. If we needed $50M more cap room, we could have gotten it. If we want to sign anyone, the 2026 cap will not stop us.

As many firsts as Cincy wants for Chase. Lol

Nothing of significance for some name with a rep, and a massive salary.

Draft and grow our own. I know we don’t have a good track record, but we can’t accept that as permanence or some impossibility.

Invest the extra money in the trenches.
