Carter & Hunter gone by 4# Trade down?

That wouldn't happen. If he plays both ways it's as a CB with some gadget WR plays.

There's no real way you have a "gadget CB". Too important of a position to say on critical 3rd downs you are going to put in guy who isn't focusing on the position. A CB needs to be able to go on the field and have studied and know every route the WR's could run and where their assignment fits in. A gadget WR works because you can draw up a couple 3 custom routes that and that's all they have to know.

The ****show that would happen the minute a team tried to put Hunter in for the first time in a game on a big third down and a drive got extended would be the last time any team does it.

Anyways it's pretty obvious he's going to be a CB first and maybe run some plays at WR. He's going in the combine at CB, every draft evaluation is grading him as a CB. His best chance of success in the league is to be a CB.
His best change of success in the league is to commit to one position and perfect it. That is undeniable. I don't think we have seen his best yet. The Pats don't "need" him at CB. They desperately need the nation's best WR. That is undeniable too.

You don't even get it. If he claims to be 6'1" and measures in at 6'0, he is still not undersized. But the only person disputing his height is you and he is the same height as Christian Gonzalez. He is not undersized. You don't even know Hunter doesn't play the same position as Marcus Jones. Slot corners are acceptably shorter and more athletic because they cover slot receivers who are typically shorter and twitchy. You totally ignore Hunter was the best WR in all of college football last year and act as if he just played the position here and there. So now your complaint is that Hunter is 185 lbs. DeVonta Smith plays at 170lbs and is fantastic.
I didn't dispute his height, though he could be shorter than his college page suggests... it wouldn't be the first time a college has lied to pump up their prospect.

I said he was undersized because he weighs 185 pounds, and might weigh less. He can certainly mitigate that some by showing himself to be really strong for a CB at the combine... but this is why I like to wait for the combine and pro days to finish before judging prospects. We're judging based on guesswork and film alone.

He is labeled as a CB at the combine and reportedly wants to play CB. If he decides he's not a two way player anymore, then he isn't. Frankly I think it would be amazing if we had Hunter and Marcus Jones playing both ways. But the Patriots have other, much more pressing needs than CB.

If the Patriots fill offensive tackle and DT positions heavily in free agency, I might change my mind. I don't dislike the player, I see bigger needs. Line play on both sides of the ball is a bigger priority.

Deion Sanders was 6'1 195 btw. HOF cornerback. It's not like he was a hulking specimen but man did he completely change the game when he was on the field. I don't believe there are any 220 lb CBs that have been any good in this league but please find the outlier.
He could be an All Pro CB... we already have one of those.

They need to build in the trenches.

Carter Hunter AND Graham could go 1-2-3
as Ward and Sanders draft stocks plummet and Giants may trade for Stafford
If Pats can not trade out of 4 in this scenario
I would favor bpa which would be Jeanty.
Bad year to pick 4 in a three person draft

If they do trade down, stay in the Top 10, and acquire additional high picks both this draft and the next, I'd be happy with Jalon Walker, Tyler Warren, Kenneth Grant, or even Will Johnson (as all of them are Day 1 Starters, even if they don't have to be), and with high upside.

Highly unlike scenario but will no more after the combine and workouts.
Cam Ward has buzz, hard to imagine he’s not top 3

If Ward is available at 4, we will get an extra pick to trade down.

I wouldn't say unlikely. Stafford has permission to seek a trade and the Giants are the number 1 team people are pegging him towards. If they make a play for him and get him, there's no chance in hell they go QB.

The Titans already said they aren't and the Browns are married to Watson.

So if that scenario becomes the most likely scenario depending on where the Giants are at QB come draft time.

Not buying much of that but as it gets closer to draft will become more clear.

Browns are definitely not tied to Watson, they need to draft a QB on a cheap contact to get rid of Watson. It's really the dream scenario for them to draft a QB. Every single report is saying Watson is done in Cleveland.
Titans did not say that, they said they won't pass up a generational talent to take a QB, they didn't say they saw a generational talent nor did they say they didn't like the QB's.
Already rumblings Giants won't pay the trade cost to trade for Stafford, a 37 year old QB, lots of smokescreens this time of year. I'd say likely landing spot for Stafford in order: Rams, Steelers, Jets, Giants.

Browns are not wasting a two years of a rookie QB contract while they are paying out the ass for Watson. It makes zero sense to piss that away when you know you are stuck. At best they might get a cheap vet if they REALLY don't want to run it back with him. But there's zero incentive to grab a QB in a week draft and not even get the biggest benefit they provide

Possible, I could see Cousins going there. My point is Deshaun Watson is done there.
If they decide Sanders or Ward are good, they would 100% take them. If they don't they won't.

Patrick Peterson:

Combine Invite: Yes
Height:

But, yes, a major outlier. Most are between 185 - 205, with the majority in the middle.

T-Rex arms Campbell hell to the No!!

Dante Scarncecchia would like a word with you. You keep babbling about arm length, but ignore the fact that Matt Light had short arms. What you'd call "T-Rex" arms for a LT. Yet Light was a top 10 LT (borderline top 5) for a majority of his career.

I don't think Vrabel passes Travis Hunter if he's there @ 4. Hunter could fill Two Needs for a Team and we have many.

Yeah. NO. While CB is a need, it's not a bigger need than OT or even DE. There are CBs available in FA that are just as suited to play opposite Gonzalez as Hunter would be.

As for Hunter playing WR, he's no Deion Sanders. He's going to have to earn that and it remains to be seen if any team wants to have him do that.. Regardless of what HE wants.

Do you even know what you write? In reference to Hunter, you said we don't need an other undersized corner like Marcus Jones, who is 5'8" and doesn't even play the same position. If Hunter's height is inflated at 6"1, he is still nowhere near 5"8 nor even under 6". Are you even sober when you post this stuff? YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON ON PLANET EARTH THAT QUESTIONS HUNTER'S HEIGHT. You are the one who is guessing. No, he did not say he wants to play CB. That is a lie. He has maintained all along he wants to play both. He has never wavered in that.

I actually agree the Pat's have bigger needs than Hunter, but if he is there at 4 you take him as the best player available.

Didn’t Scar say he wouldn’t take any of the OT in this draft in the top 10….

If Hunter weighs 185 or less he’s going to have to bulk up to play outside unless he’s really strong. Again… wait for the combine and pro days. You’re guessing.

The Pats have an All Pro CB, why didn’t they win games last year? Oh yeah, no trenches…. learn the game.

The ones who don't want to sell their soul are retiring.
I think the ones who are retiring were doing the same thing for years. Now that the playing field has been leveled they lost their advantage so they decided to take their ball and go home.
