If Vrabel and Johnson won't come, you could have your wish, another coach on a very short leash. Flores would bring the Defense back to top 10 or better. AVP, McCartney and McAdoo could stay. This group would be a massive improvement.
I think Jonathan would nix that.

I’d consider him, but he has the same problem as Johnson. Or any coach stepping up from OC to HC without previous HC experience.

There’s a risk, because there’s less information about what to expect.
Flores was a HC for dolphins

Yes, I know. I favor Flores as third choice after Vrabes and Johnson, in that order.

I was talking about Aaron Glenn. AFAIK he doesn’t have previous HC experience. Or am I missing something?

So my ranked choice list:
1. Vrabel
2. Johnson
2A. Flores
4. Glenn

For me it’s Vrabel or A offensive coach.
I don’t want a defensive minded head coach.

It didn't work out for him in Miami.

Someone else said he threw a tantrum. I don't think him being a **** to Tua was a tantrum. I think that's just the way he is.
I remember at some point this season I saw or read an interview on Flores and he was pretty remorseful on how things went in Miami and says he learned from it. I believe him.

I think the Pats need to add Flores to the list in case they miss out on Vrabel and Johnson.

I want a coach who is going to set a no nonsense locker room culture, and has shown he will do that in a previous HC position.

I don’t want any coach who has never been HC before and will be trying to learn on the job while doing the job. That’s just taking on a great amount of avoidable risk.

We don’t need the highest ceiling (whatever that synonym for WAG might be) with the highest risk roll of the dice, we need a coach that will build a stable environment based on solid football fundamentals.

I’m tired of watching a team that can’t even line up properly for plays in the allotted time. We need a HC who will pay attention to those details, much more than we need a visionary genius who might or might not be able to lead a successful program.

Screw lining up right, we need think bigger we need a coach who will get the most out of our greatest asset Drake Maye,
My list does that.

Dude why would you keep the miserably failed offensive staff?

Vrabel and McDaniels. They will both be here for 15 + years

Josh ends up with more rings than BB and gives Drake Mayes induction intro in canton.

McDaniels or Ben Johnson developing Maye is the way.

If Flores was our coach this year, Kraft would never make it to the HOF

Flores would have ratted Kraft out for wanting to lose the final game vs Buffalo

Why would any owner trust him after Miami?

I do not. As a culture, we have adopted the weird, self-defeating view that failure is admirable because it affords a chance for redemption and offers us an opportunity for virtue-signalling expressions of compassion for the "suffering" of those who are victims somehow of their own failings. Nonsense. There are plenty of options who have not demonstrated the crap judgment Flores did. Pick one of them.

I see it easier to get an OC that can greatly improve the Offense than it is to get a DC who can improve the Defense. The Defense needs a lot more work in improving coaching and leadership.

For me, it would be a disaster for the HC to have no experience in leading a Defense as a coach or a player.

Of course you don't want a defensive minded coach. Apparently, for some, success is all about offensive game plans. The Defense went from top 10 to bottom 5. That is the crisis.

The Offense simply needs talent: 2-4 new OL's and 2 top receivers (and a re-sign of Hooper. I would fire some of the coaches on Offense (WR and OL). However, AVP, McCartney and McAdoo are quite capable of having a solid Offense if we had the talent, limited only by the ability and heath of Maye.

The Offense needs talent.

Of course, the Defense also needs to add some talent. However, The Defense also needs leadership, someone to develop schemes, someone to call plays, and a HC who can step in and help the DC and defensive coaches as necessary.
