Dear lord Maye the Pats Rham it down the Jags throats and not Pop prematurely. I know weird prayer

Maybe it’s weird, but I care more about a good showing from the offense than the win itself. A competent offense would be such a hit.
After the last two years of awful offense and good defense, it would be a kick where it hurts if the O gets better just when the D goes south. The score was 14-0 before Maye got a second set of downs against the Texans. Constantly playing from behind for the rest of the season is not a healthy way to develop a rookie QB. The win is less important than establishing some sort of balance between O and D.

If they are seeking run game success, Robinson + Onwenu on the right is a great combination. Onwenu also shores up the continual problems at RT. Robinson is a weakness as a pass blocker, but hopefully a few weeks on the bench has helped him get a better grasp of that. Maye also has better vision and quickness - if someone is blasting up the middle he can move out of the way better than Brissett could, and he’s also able to get rid of the ball faster.

I think this is a decent combo if Robinson has some improvement. Jacobs can good enough at LT with reps, IMO. He played half of a good game against SF. They’re not gonna play many more teams the caliber of SF up front.

Eventually when Wallace returns perhaps they can slot him at RT and put Onwenu back to RG, though if Robinson is holding up then may as well leave it as is. Strange will need to play too, at some point.

I see the potential in Layden, it just seemed like he wasn’t even close when he was in there at the beginning. With a rookie qb its pretty risky to not prioritize the pass blocking, hopefully he’s shown alot in practice for them to give him the nod again. But he better be on a leash

Yeah, this offense isn’t built to win shootouts so giving up alot of pts would make this a veryrough year for drake. Id much rather see games with 17-20 PA from the d with 250 and 2/0 or 2/1 from maye and lots of rb carries until we bolster the line and find a truly dynamic wr. Very concerned with what i think we will get out of the d though

This is somewhat encouraging i guess , could indicate theres been alot of improvement with layden’s pass blocking and hes been working his ass off to eliminate the errors. We’ll see tomorrow.

Why in the blue **** would they have robinson at rg when sow is healthy?? They better not hesitate to pull the plug after the 2nd or 3rd time he gets drake leveled
Yeah, I HOPE Robinson somehow cleaned up his pass pro issues in practice but somehow Sow seems to be in the dog house.
Good thing is Maye can see when Robinson is beat as is not his blind side, but with him AND Jacobs on the line he could be escaping the pocket every other down.
The positive is this almost guarantees Jags will try to blitz a ton which, if it does not get home right away Maye will rip apart. With Jacobs and Robinson it might get home right away though.

Would be best case scenario, Robinson and Onwenu on the right side have been a great rushing combo but his pass blocking caused so many problems. If he is close to average at that now then they should be able to run and pass much better, as long as Jacobs also holds up.

Really concerned about Sow no longer in the Starting line up. Thought he would be a Starter this Year, can't say I'm not disappointed.

Thomas had some issues last game but certainly didn't embarrass himself. Thought Thomas played decent given the circumstances... thoughts.

Theyll have to help jacobs i think. As long as they find a solid combo for the other 4 this is very doable for drake. But yeah you cant have multiple weak spots or he will have nowhere to go. Agreed robinson and onwenu on the right side has alot of potential. Getting at least one of robinson or wallace to hit would be huge for the line.

We don't have the depth of talent to compete vs the better teams on our schedule... Bur Jacksonville isn't one the better teams... I thought they might be going into this year, but like most years they just can't put it together...

Looking for a competitive game... Despite all our flaws, I would be disappointed if we don't win...

Looking forward to watching Drake Maye... After he leveled out last week, he really made some nice throws...hope that helps with the 8 in the box scheme defenses routinely employ against us... Given some of the throws he made we should be able to stretch the field a bit... As long as our most glaring weakness, pass pro, can hold up... I don't think Jacksonville has a good rush, so there is hope... But Maye needs to do better with the turnovers... The short fields just kill Covingtons defense...

Maye will also be helped by the the return of rham... Least I think he's going to play... Mayo said game time decision but he did travel with the team... He is the best offensive weapon we have... I like Gibson, but rham is better... despite his fumbling, we are better with him than without... Just needs to not fumble the damn ball

Defensively we need to get some kind of pass rush going... We are really feeling the loss of weedboy Barmore and Judon, with no ability to create sustained pressure... Not sure if it's entirely a talent problem or if it's conceptual... The cover 2 zone we have been seeing a lot of is leaky, letting the QBs get the ball out quickly... Top that off with the repeated loss of containment, and it's ugly... When they let the QB step into a throw on a broken play, things haven't ended well for us this year...

I believe sow took a while to settle in last year too and then finished well. Hoping this is saying more about robinson than sow. Jordan has clearly shown he deserves to start

I fear it's the same thing that happened to Strange last year... that he's really hurt and probably shouldn't be playing, and if he does it's going to result in a much worse injury. I thought Sow was really good last year. And I thought Strange was good too when healthy. Risking young potential starters health with the state this team is in, is really dumb.

I agree that Sow's status is injury related. That said, I don't think his situation is the same as Strange last year. Strange had two injuries, not an ongoing problem that suddenly got worse. As you say Strange was playing well after recovering from the first 'run of the mill' knee injury when he got leg whipped which caused very serious damage. Having both players healthy next year will provide solid depth for the OL reboot.

If Robinson does take a step forward and Jacobs can be sturdy then I think this group is OK. Robinson, Onwenu, Jacobs and Jordan shown injury issues yet. Jordan did have one knick but he came back fairly quickly and seems dependable. Brown is too new so that’s an unknown for him so far.

If they can be a sturdy bunch then they can build continuity. Eventually Wallace and Strange will be back healthy, they can slowly get right and see if they can work their way into a spot. Strange will probably be good enough to supplant Jordan.

Already looks shook. lol

Oh man, im bracing myself for alot of embarrassment this season. But the one thing i truly wanna avoid is seeing Mac come in for whatever reason and light us up for a win. With our defense it wouldn’t be shocking either
