Wrong. I gave no idea why where he wanted it to be is a thing, but the foot landed out of bounds.

His heel landed out of bounds. Not his foot. This was after he caught the ball.

His heel is part of his foot. The whole thing needs to be in bounds.
The catch is made until both feet are down in bounds with possession the second foot came down out of bounds.

The rule doesn’t say it you are partially in bounds that’s ok.

That's where the delay comes into play.

Mutiny incoming?

A mutiny is what is going on with the NYJ, where the defense is taking shots at the offense, accountability is when the offensive and defensive leaders are calling on their own units to do their job.

I would argue that since the Patriots started 8 and 0 in 2019, they have had ONE good half season of football since. That was Mac Jones first half of his rookie season.

This offense has been dog **** going back to at least 2018.

This has been really hard to watch for over a half decade.
That's right. Some here were complaining that they didn't like Tom's attitude and his comment that they were a poor 8-0 team. And they've been steadily worse every year since.

Since the turn of the century the Pats have gone from great defense/good offense to great offense/good defense and now to average defense/no offense. We've come a long way... in the wrong direction.

What is the “delay” the foot landed in one motion as one event

The delay is that between the time his toes established inside the end zone with possession and the time the rest of his foot was out of bounds the play is dead and ruled successful.

The same exact scenario that occured yesterday would result in a TD had any other part of his body landed outside of bounds, while his toe was in bounds and then continued onward to his heel being out of bounds.

So what changes in that scenario?

How do you explain one part of the foot hitting the ground after the other then? If that's not a delay then what is?
Normal continuous motion of taking a step

It’s a terrible rule… two feet in used to be a TD.

We’re like a decade in or so of the NFL not knowing or confused about what a TD looks like.

Polk had his toes in and his other foot down with possession of the ball. Should have been a TD… but the spread or something.

Even though it started out OK, that too many men on the field - on a frickin' punt no less - signaled to me that something might not be right with this team. I mean, c'mon, the other team decides to punt, the Patriots send out the punt unit. Simple. But no... they get out there and suddenly someone says, "Hey, wait a minute... I'm not on the punt team". Really? That's how that went?? And why didn't the coach call a timeout to avoid that penalty? It gave the Dolphins a 1st down. That's worth spending a timeout.

Another penalty - that should have been two - also bugged me. The play clock was plainly running down and it was obvious that without calling timeout, it was going to be a penalty. Yet they took the penalty. Then they came back to line after the delay of game penalty and did it AGAIN. I'm telling you, that clock said 0 before they snapped that ball. I couldn't believe it wasn't flagged.

One last thought - that toe-heel rule has to go. What is the point of it? It makes no sense at all. I hate it almost as much as the illegal touching penalty.

So toe taps are good as long as your heel stays (OFF) the ground after you land got it. Parcells year one draft picks for reference....

I think you don’t understand what delay means. The foot came down, in one motion, with one part touching first and the rest right after.

What do you want the rule to be, if your foot is partially in bounds it’s a catch?

They just announced that Peppers was arrested Friday night for an assault and drug possession. WTF
Lovely. Perhaps we now know why he plays with such "passion." I hate saying that, but almost no level of cynicism is unjustified when it comes to this dismal team.
