Brissett has the highest sack percentage and lowest QB rating of his nine year career… it’s a team sport.

Blaming him for this sht show is a horrid take. He’s not great, he’s also not why they suck.

4 LTs have started this season. It's utterly a joke with the like right now. Now nick Leverett who just learned how to snap a football is going to be the C.. Jake Andrews who hasn't done anything but I'd be intrigued by.. is on IR. Strange isn't going to probably play Any time soon.. may as well just keep jacobs at LT.. at this point there is no salvaging this OL. Add in a limited QB you get what you've been witnessing.

But it’s not all because of 3 games.
It’s because of a failed off season. It’s because of poor cus Jing and schemes on both sides of the ball. It’s about dysfunction in the locker room. Sure winning cures all but the reasons they are losing aww re unit luck or smoke and mirrors. That’s my point, the reasons they are losing is because the decisions they have made with players, coaches and executives have been bad, and you are seeing the results in the field.

Isn’t that the point of discussing? Uncover what the problems are? We can always dismiss any evaluation with “close your eyes and hold it gets better” but if we are going to do that why bother having a discussion.

None of the LTs are any good. We wouldn’t be any better off if we had the same one, any of the 4, out there for every game.

Unfortunately, Mayo was dealt a bad hand. Belichick really left this team in shambles. Years of bad drafting and his refusal to spend to fix the offense when he had a chance has made this one of the least talented teams in the league.

I think picking Brissett was a mistake by Wolf. I think it was important to have a QB who could start while developing Maye, but he was just the wrong guy. His processing speed is too slow for a team with a horrible o-line.

And free agency didn't help since the free agent market sucked and the best players were on defense at positions where the Pats didn't think they needed any help.

I think Mayo needs time to prove he can do it.

Who knows if Mayo is a good coach or not, but few or no coaches could succeed with the hand Mayo has been dealt.

Dominoes: Kraft prematurely hires Mayo and elevates the unproven Wolf. Mayo lacks the connections/experience/time to assemble a good coaching staff so he goes with pal Covington at DC and option No. 12 for OC, AVP, who brings in Brissett because "they know each other." Meanwhile, Wolf whiffs on possible FA help at WR and OT while succumbing to pressure for picking a very green quarterback at No. 3 vs. addressing multiple roster needs via the draft.

Imagine how much further ahead the Pats would be with the likes of a Harbaugh or Vrabel at HC and experienced personnel guy in the front office. Even if they still went with Maye, we at least would have a competent veteran bridge quarterback plus an OC capable of creatively working with duct tape and baling wire. No way in hell should this franchise be spiraling toward rock bottom. LAST YEAR should've been the floor.

There was a large contingent of people here who argued with me the moment Wolf rushed out to sign Okorafor that he was a good signing. There was zero evidence to support that take, but people did it anyway... a change of jersey was going to fix his horrid play. Laughable...

There were and still are people here insisting Lowe, despite his lack of playing time in Minnesota and terrible play last season was miraculously going to turn it around this season when he was handed a starting position... despite not having earned it. There's some still suggesting he is going to fix the position when he returns... it was as bad as the Okorafor take.

They spent this entire preseason playing Onwenu at right guard, they pretty much told us he is a guard... then move him the moment real games started. Was that supposed to be gamesmanship? Dumb... he belongs inside preventing interior pressure, give our QB at least a brief second to throw.

The disaster of this offensive line was in the offseason build... Wolf sht the bed.

The apologists here will argue he needs another 3-4 years to get it right... laughable. These are the same people who told me Okorafor was good.

I think they need to be given time. And things can't last forever. Patriots were a dynasty type team for 20 years. They had a generational QB. Best HC. Best owner. A down period was inevitable.

Right now, the Chiefs have all that. Ultimately, things will eventually change. KC won't be great anymore. A rebuild will be necessary. It happens to every team. It happened to the 60's Packers. 70's Steelers. 49ers after Young. Cowboys after Jimmy.

Maybe it will take Mayo time to get things in order. Put his stamp on the team.

A better owner would have stood up for his star QB and HOF HC when they were being railroaded by the league.

Very interesting. When Brian Flores was running the defense and leading it to a AB Championship, allowing 3 points in the SB, Mayo who had never coached at any level was in Israel with Kraft.
Flores went on to get head coaching experience and turn around a terrible team while Mayo coached inside linebackers, never being part of a staff that won a postseason game.
5 years later, Kraft doesnt consider Flores and hire Mayo without interviewing a soul.

I am more concerned about Wolf than Mayo, at least for now. As a first year coach Mayo was expected to have some learning moments. As long as the team stays together during a season of adversity, he will have done his most important job as coach. Wolf on the other hand was supposed to be an experienced talent evaluator who was young enough to bring his own vision to the role. Not only did he have some role in the last few drafts, he did not improve this years roster coming off a four win season. Maye could end up making it all worth while, the inability to get talent for the OL is looking to be a fatal flaw that will make this a lost year.

Even more troubling is that Wolf was part of the front office through the 4 year decline, and just assumed the leadership without interviewing, being challenged, or needing to sell ownership on his plan.
Instead it was, let’s let him draft and then we’ll see, and no search, recruitment or anything happened.
It’s like Kraft just mailed it in.
Mayo and Wolf might go down as a worse decision that Patrica and judge.

Not sure that I follow, unless you mean that we need to find a new GM and coach. If that is the case our only hope for having a competitive team in the near future is for Mayo and Wolf to figure it out quickly. I don't think there is any chance that Kraft would be bold enough to admit that he made a mistake after 1 year.

Yes, if this is their skill level we need to clean house. It’s hard to digress from 4-13 but we seem to have digressed on offense, on defense, in coaching and in the front office.

He can fire Wolf because he already presented him as a guy trying to prove he deserves the job. Mayo will get a second year.

Deep down I really believe that Kraft felt fixing it was going to be too expensive so he took a step back, saved himself some money and will see what happens for 2-3 years while maximizing profit then reassess.

With having a QB now in Drake.. I feel more confident in the future than the rate we were going last few years. Right now yeah it looks ugly.. let's get though the season and see if they can turn it around.

I don’t care how long he has been a HC, he is a HC, there is no trading on a curve. I don’t care what he inherited. I am evaluating him based upon the job he is doing.
The job he is doing so far is terrible. If he improves I will adjust my opinion. That’s how evaluation works.

Well, despite most opinions on the board, I thought Patricia improved during the season, the team started to play better on offense and was competitive until Mac and or Zappe made their inexplicable blunders, and we ended up losing.
