Posting this here so causal people looking for the latest update can find it:

Obviously that's a step back from where they apparently were not that long ago:

They need to just trade him. With the Barmore’s illness, this defense is severely weakened. They aren’t contending and he's going to be 32 on the final year of his contract.

I think trading is the best move. I wonder what we could get for him. My initial thought was we could get a decent pick since his salary is low, but the reality is the team will have to trade for him and sign him too. So we’re probably not talking too much in return

Gotta trade him now unfortunately. Can’t pay old guys top of market on a non playoff team inna rebuild. More importantly, can’t pay him at all now after yesterday’s antics because of precedent.

I said it much earlier in the offseason. We should’ve traded him. This season is a lost cause especially with Barmore out and now we have our superstar turning into a malcontent, having a hissy fit at training camp.

Great start to a new regime.

He's an interesting dude. But a dude on the wrong side of 30, coming off an injury that kept him out practically a whole season. His negotiating position is...dubious, at best. We don't even have any guarantee he can still play at the level he did before because of that injury.
Trade him before it becomes a bigger issue and before it may become obvious that the tank is getting emptier.

With yesterday's scene it seems like this is an increasing issue. Either move him or pay him.
What's irritating is whatever happened to not whining about his contract and playing anyways? Like he said he was going to do.

Seems like a good dude, but he tends to really be emotionally volatile at times.

Either give him a salary bump or trade him, but don’t let this drag on anymore. They don’t need the distraction.

We aren’t gonna get much for him as whoever trades will have to re-up him.

What if they’ve tried to trade and no takers? I know what yesterday looked like but we really have no idea what was said…could’ve been yapping back and forth about playing madden ffs…unless I missed something…

Come on man. You came away after watching the video thinking they were talking about Madden? They were talking contract and Judon's behavior. No way around it.

If this were Bill's Pats, I think Judon would be gone already. Then again, I don't think Judon would have pulled these stunts with Bill. I'm not so sure with this new administration.

This, for better and worse, is what doing business with players is like in today's NFL. Hold outs. Hold ins. Sick outs. Demanding respect. I'm not saying that the Pats will or should pay him, but if they want to be the player-friendly guys they just kind of have to roll with doing business now.

At some point, there's going to be a line in the sand drawn with players. Maybe this is it.

BB would not have approached him in front of the media. He would have sent someone else over if he even had a problem with him hanging out.

This whole thing is stupid.

Judon not showing up to practice.... what a joke.

Would have never dared not to show up under BB's reign. That's what happens when you put a clown for a head coach. Zero respect.

I assume this is humorous sarcasm?
He had multiple people not show up to practice and hold out.
Logan Mankins held out half the season. He just didn't skip out on practice, he missed 7 regular season games!

There are countless contract disputes that took place during Belichick's tenure, which led to some memorable holdouts, Richard Seymour and Logan Mankins are two that come to mind, in particular:

Mankins sat out until November in 2010.

I don't know if Peppers's deal was the straw that broke the camel's back or he just got pissed off about not being able to be out there without pads but either way that wasn't the way to approach it.

I definitely remember, tough to forget that one. His agent, Frank Bauer, was pretty crazy. Very vocal throughout that whole process and it was certainly one of the more memorable contract standoffs that I can recall:

although that one eventually ended up with a happy ending:

His name popped up recently because he's apparently still working with players and also works with Kenny Chapman as Devante Adams' agent(s) and they spoke out recently about the trade rumors that were going around about him in Las Vegas. Seeing his name certainly brought back some memories ... albeit for an odd reason.
