Personally, I think every single one of the other openings is a better situation to walk into. So far we've interviewed 4 guys (Caley, Pitcher, Robinson, Waldron). One of them (Waldron) already filled the CHI vacancy. Pitcher and Robinson each have interviewed other places that, IMO, represent better opportunities. Caley hasn't been interviewed by anyone but us.
Let's just take what I'm saying at the face value instead of talking in circles around it like everyone is... we are one of many teams trying to land an OC in this hiring cycle. I believe our situation is at or near the bottom in terms of desirable landing spots. There are dozens and dozens of guys who could reasonably be hired as OC and I'm not suggesting we won't be able to get one of them. But every year that are a few candidates most sought after and all I'm saying is that I don't like our chances of landing one of those guys because if someone has multiple suitors then they've probably got better options. And having to settle for our 2nd choice would be worst than the 1st. And the 3rd would be worse than the 2nd. And the 4th worse than the 3rd. And on and on like that...
It's pure denial to pretend like we aren't at or near the bottom of desirable OC openings IMO, and there's no way to spin that as anything but a negative for us. It's really very simple.
