Deion Sanders Weighs In On The Latest Julio Jones To Patriots Rumors
David Butler II - USA TODAY Sports
The Julio Jones watch remains all the rage across the NFL world right now as the All-Pro wide receiver continues to look for a new destination and move on from the Atlanta Falcons after spending the first ten seasons of his career there.
The Patriots are rumored to be one of the teams with interest in Jones, with “internal discussions” reportedly having taking place recently according to NFL Network’s Mike Giardi.
Following an offseason free agency splurge that saw Bill Belichick acquire Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry in free agency to bolster the offense, could Jones be next?
As of Thursday, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported that the Falcons most recent asking price for Jones includes offering up a future first round pick.
At least one former NFLer in Hall of Famer Deion Sanders thinks Jones should at least consider going to a winner like the Patriots.
Sanders tweeted out some advice for Jones but warned him about the winter elements of Foxborough since he spent eight home games a year in a dome with the Falcons.
If I’m @juliojones_11 I’ve got to go to a winner which means a playoff team or a team that traditionally wins like @Patriots. I would be careful of going to a cold climate city when you’ve always played in a dome. That matters tremendously. I’m helping u narrow it down. #Truth

Despite Sanders concerns about the weather, at the end of the day Jones won’t have full say on where he ends up as he lacks a no-trade clause in his current contract.
As for where all parties go from here, no deal anywhere is likely to get done until June 1st at the earliest because of the salary-cap benefits for the Falcons.
Stay tuned as the Julio watch continues through the weekend.
