Clearly there is still a handful of moves that'll come tomorrow and get the team to the actual 53. Still think a bunch of last years draft class will be back on the PS.

Get Stueber back on the practice squad and at a position other than left tackle. Hines seemed to be improving at the end of camp too, just too little too late. Like Belichick said today, getting released often isn’t the end. Cam Fleming, for example, was released at this point in his career and went on to start 20 games for the Patriots including a Super Bowl.
Steuber has been awful

Thornton has been injured twice and looks like he's on IR again for pretty much the same reason, and jack Jones is playing likes he's about to be suspended.

Do you think these players are on upswings?
I think Thornton will end up being a bust unfortunately…..he is always injured and had a horrible TC

I expect Pats to sign both Zappe & Malik back to the PS.
And if Zappe gets snatched off the waiver, then Pats probably are okay with that, and it means Malik will get more opportunity.
As well as a new QB2 on the 53.

OR - they needed the space to carry TT and (maybe Reiff or McD) on the 53, then will short-IR them to bring back Zappe?
Malik will get more opportunity to do what?! Wildcat?! We didn’t see enough of him against #1 defenses to see how he would fare. Wish him the best of luck and maybe he comes back as a project/run scout teams

Then Harris should be easy to get back.
I think Sow or Mafi, Boutte or Douglas, maybe J Andrews would have all been scooped up. Can't afford to lose those guys.
not so sure about Sow…..he seems like a pretty average, run of the mill OL

Lol we’re counting Wheatley as part a ”fabulous draft”? we didn’t draft him and we’ve never seen him play a down.
Wheatley is completely unproven, and never played a down, but had a good overall training camp….this is considered VERY GOOD NEWS with todays Patriots OL is concerned…

I don’t think they utilized him correctly…..wish him well ….had outstanding preseason/camp…..hope he catches on with another team !

Can’t see him staying healthy this year with this OL…..quick release mac!
If he can’t stay healthy cut him!

Did you have a lot of coffee or something?

Only having one QB and two RBs is absolutely wild. They are going to carry a 2nd QB and a 3rd RB on the active roster for game one so I expect those positions to be filled as soon as the first couple players are put on IR.

I’d be shocked if Thornton injury is a 4 week injury. Remember 7 guys in the roster are inactive so a short term injury shouldn’t require IR when the other 52 are healthy.
5 guys are inactive. 48 dress w. 8 Olinemen. 49 could dress if you have 3 QBs on the 53.

I stand corrected, but the overall point is the same.

The only one I'd question is Ameer Speed instead of Ronnie Perkins. I'd keep Perkins, he looked like he was coming on.

I fully expect Speed to be the first cut when they add a QB and a RB this week.

Next I'd expect them to cut one of the OL.
