Tyquan Thornton Having a Tough Camp

Also, here we are discussing a frail Thornton, and you talk about Austin, a 5'9" guy, 2 yrs older than Thornton, 160 pounds, who sat out the entire season with a lisfranc foot problem.

How do we tout one guy but not our own? Especially when our own has done more and is younger?
I am not as Biased as you I like other Teams players too.

This is deranged. You tout a guy with a lisfranc injury, he's 5'9 160 pounds, 2 years older, and dismiss our own guys. It's just crazy stuff.

But you tend to do this a lot. Whoever isn't on the Patriots is great. Rinse and repeat.
That's because I have an opinion and don't bend with the wind like you.

They got another one last year too looking the make the Second Year jump wished we had taken a flier on him last year Calvin Austin III.

Where Austin was taken by ****tsdirt (& Romeo Doubs by GB; and Khalil Shakir by Barfalo) was where BoneyT should've been taken by Notgoat & Al Groh's kid.... 50 + 158 for this ****ing twig is Clown Drafting.

Belichick is supposedly the best coach in the league, the greatest of all time...well, where are the results since Brady left?
The reason why you’ll never get an answer is because posters may realize they are walking themselves into a check mate.

It shouldn’t be unreasonable to ask Bill to get at least one playoff win by now with his pedigree.

criticism is not crying and whining. and the first 3 super bowl teams had a considerable core of Bill Parcells draftees - Ty Law, Bruschi, Troy Brown, Ted Johnson, McGinest. but go ahead, keep putting your head in the sand and ignoring the fact that the Coach has put up a 25-26 record over the last three seasons and has 0 playoff wins.
You know who's won playoff games in those three seasons? Such coaching stalwarts as Doug Pederson, Mike McCarthy, Bruce Arians (who'd he have at QB?), Kevin Stefanski.
No one's expecting super bowls every season, and as you've said a million times, the Patriots won 6 when Brady was the quarterback. Belichick is supposedly the best coach in the league, the greatest of all time...well, where are the results since Brady left?
A massive part of the failures post Brady are Bill the Coach's abhorrent drafts of offensive skill players. We don't need to go down the list of skill position busts, but Thornton is simply emblematic of the GM's ineptitude when it comes to drafting players that put points on the board and catch passes.
Who knows, maybe Boutte and Douglas will be productive and help the team score more than 2 TDs a game vs good teams. I'm not banking on it.

You were one of the people here who cried and whined WHILE. they were winning championships. And there are many great QB’s, some who had great coaches, who never came anywhere near accomplishing what Brady did with Belichick. Favre-1 Lombardi, Elway-2 Lombardi’s, Peyton Manning-2 Lombardi’s ( 1 where he contributed absolutely nothing), and Marino 0 Lombardi’s. And what made both Brady and Belichick the respective GOAT’s was the combination of both of them, as well as the players and coaches Belichick put around them. But then again, as our resident Jetsfan I would never expect you to understand that. I wish you Good luck to your team this season, even though I know you will be rooting as hard as possible against the Patriots.

I think bending with the wind is precisely what you're doing

A guy with 2 catches for an entire season because of foot pain makes a preseason grab, and oh, he looks good!

Meanwhile your own guy has also made as many and more grabs, and he's awful.

Talk about swaying with the wind

Coaching absolutely matters and Bill was always at his best when his rosters had a lot of talent. This is why I'm always so critical of Bill to get more talent on the roster.

But the examples of Favre and Elway aren't the best because both QB's either had their Coaches for only a short period and/or had a short window of good teams in the mid to late 90's. Farve's Packers really only had a two year run and then quickly got passed up by the 1998 Vikings with Holmgren leaving after the season. Elway's Broncos had a 3 year run and retired after 1998. Shanahan was 0-3 in the playoffs and took him 6 years to win a playoff game unfortunately against the Pats. Holmgren couldn't win a playoff game either going 0-3 until 2005.

Manning had a very good Coach in Dungy, but they couldn't match up against the Pats and Polian went on a cold streak after 2003 which led to the roster to slowly rot. They are lucky as hell they pulled a Lombardi out of their azz in 2006.

I was too young for the Marino/Shula years, but the he was cooked by the time Jimmy Johnson arrived.

It goes hand it hand. Coaches need good players and players need good coaches.

Yes, you and captain stone can celebrate every time Austin makes a catch.

That means you can celebrate 2x a year.
Great come back took over four hours to come back with that one you're in good company NOT!.

. Belichick is supposedly the best coach in the league, the greatest of all time...well, where are the results since Brady left?
.
So let me make sure I understand this.
The guy who has the most success ever, has 3 average seasons (btw, clearly fallout from pushing for 4 Sbs and 3 wins in 5 years) so that means someone who has had less success is therefore more successful?
If Belichick isn’t the GOAT, who are your candidates?

It must be real boring in Buffalo for you to be harping over this BS have a bug light.

Your last point is my primary point, to win it all coach and QB usually go hand in hand, but even then there are many more factors, including luck. Im as big a Brady fan as anyone here, but the idea that it was all Brady is ludicrous, as he was surrounded by great players and coaches throughout his career. And bashing Belichick because of their record as he tries to rebuild them after the longest dynasty in NFL history is pure idiocy. The Cowboys were the last dynasty before the Patriot and they haven’t won a playoff game since the mid 90’s, Belichick will rebuild them to contender status before hefretires.

The claim has been made that the Steelers have drafted lots more wide receivers than the Patriots -- true or false?

That's a question Steelers fans ask also - is Kevin Colbert as good as people say he is when he has drafted so many WR...and many in the first 4 rounds. I think a big thing is even with their misses, they have had some home runs...and definitely a lot of hits. That covers up the misses.

Out for first 4 games.
Can't have a breakout season in the trainers room...

@NFLmac

Care to explain the "ugh"?

Coaching and talented players don't matter?

I could really give a sh## about the argument but I want that beer.
