[Edited thread title] Jack Jones arrested for possession of firearms at airport

This is a Federal Offense
Concealed carry with a Loaded gun and extended clip in a airport in Massachusetts
Not sure why he felt the need to bring 2 weapons on a plane
I think these type of charges are an instant deal breaker after the Hernandez situation. Not saying he was going to murder someone but this situation makes me sense a bad lifestyle for this young man
No such thing as an "extended clip".

The Magazine law is a State, not a federal one. As is the moronic Ammo card.

They're also claiming that both firearms were illegally possessed. That could be either State or Federal depending on where he bought them.

All that being said, it is incumbent upon the firearm's owner to know what the rules and regulations are in whatever State he/she is traveling to.

Cause he’s a dumbass, young talented rich and still acting like he’s a hard thug. Grow the **** up, it’s funny to me when people piss away talent to look cool.

Oh, I agree 100 percent. I just find it so mind-numbingly stupid I can't bring myself to laugh. Or even crack an ironic smile.

All the charges are bad enough, but no firearm identification card is the coup de grace precluding any "it was just a bad mistake" excuses.

You have to be proven to have malicious intent to get jail time. Like i posted about, it happens about 7000 times a year in the US. Many dont even get arrested, but it is MA afterall. Usually a fine and some kind of program, with what is generally considered to be the worse outcome, is losing your ability to own a firearm. They tend to be more lenient with High net-worth and public figures, which believe it or not, has happened countless times before. Again, not saying he gets a pass, but he aint going to jail. Not a chance unless there is more to the story. The vast majority of these cases get thrown out.. Same thing happened to Mike Epps about 3 months ago.

After reading about it, he was probably arrested because of the extended Mag which is illegal in MA. Depended on where he was traveling to, and where and if his guns were permitted, that's what could be his undoing. You can also buy a gun in another state with the intent to get it permitted in another state. There's often a grace period in states that require you to have a license in the first place. Remember, this is the United states, not Australia.
It doesn't even have to be an "extended mag". It could be the "Common Use" mag of 15 rounds. Which, by Heller and Bruen should mean there isn't an issue. But, as you said. This is Massachusetts. Much like NY, they don't give a Flying "F**K" about SCOTUS.

I'm a little unclear here about the legalities. Aren't you required in EVERY state to be licensed to have a gun. Maybe he can beat the charges or just pay a fine IF he had a legal license to have those guns. But didn't one report say one or both those guns were unlicensed?

What a shame, what a waste. Another great day for the gun manufacturers of American and all their lobbyists. I feel SOOOO much safer. Sorry, it's just late. I'm tired and when I'm tired cranky and sleep deprived I tend to rant and tell the truth

It isn't legal in an airport. Anywhere in the US.
Not true. You can be standing in line at the ticket counter to include them as part of your checked luggage. Granted, they can not be loaded at the time. But you can have them in the airport.

Nope. In NH all you need is a driver's license (for instance).

Uh...on the bright side, at least the Pats will have to find another D back with a higher IQ than a bag of beach sand. This COULD be a silver lining.Time will definitely tell and the Pats have the time to fill HIS spot.

No not every state requires you to have a license to have a firearm. In fact, more than half the states do not required you to have a license to posses a firearm. It's called Constitutional Carry. However, there are many states that you can get a license to "Carry Concealed".

The problem is that every state is different. But it's incumbent upon the OWNER of the Firearm to know what the Laws are in any state they are traveling to. Concealed Carry holders have a much easier time traveling to other states. Particularly ones that offer reciprocity for their Permit. And by easier, I mean when travelling by vehicle. Travelling by aircraft, you're best to use a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) to ship it to wherever you're going.

I didn't say Firearms ID Card. I said AMMO ID card. And that's a Mass exclusive.

If you're a resident of another State, you can't legally have a pistol in MA. You have to have gotten a MA Concealed Carry Permit (or whatever they're called). I don't think MA does any sort of reciprocity with anyone. It's a way to rake handgun owners over the coals, honestly.

I was referencing Kadlick's Tweet in post No. 5, not what you said, but you obviously know the requirements. My point was Jones reportedly had no gun or ammo-related permit/license/I.D. (that we know of) enabling any possible defense for his actions.

Yeah well guess I’m just different, I find it so remarkably stupid to piss your life away can’t help but crack a giggle. I hope he turns his life around I’m not happy about it, but all I could do is shake my head and laugh a bit at his thought process.

He’s the Ja Morant of football.
Is this his second time? In less than 6 months? I think the answer to each question is No. So there isn't a comparison to be equal with Ja Morant. Maybe you were trying to make a joke

After Ja Morant was suspended for 25 games recently. This doesn't make sense to be doing. Some people are just stupid.
We shall see what BB does? Kraft does? The NFL does? All regarding his job. The legal matter is different. Massachusetts has some of the strictest gun laws. 4

It was..

I have to wonder, was he always this stupid or has he been practicing?
