[Edited thread title] Jack Jones arrested for possession of firearms at airport

This is a Federal Offense
Concealed carry with a Loaded gun and extended clip in a airport in Massachusetts
Not sure why he felt the need to bring 2 weapons on a plane
I think these type of charges are an instant deal breaker after the Hernandez situation. Not saying he was going to murder someone but this situation makes me sense a bad lifestyle for this young man

You have to be proven to have malicious intent to get jail time. Like i posted about, it happens about 7000 times a year in the US. Many dont even get arrested, but it is MA afterall. Usually a fine and some kind of program, with what is generally considered to be the worse outcome, is losing your ability to own a firearm. They tend to be more lenient with High net-worth and public figures, which believe it or not, has happened countless times before. Again, not saying he gets a pass, but he aint going to jail. Not a chance unless there is more to the story. The vast majority of these cases get thrown out.. Same thing happened to Mike Epps about 3 months ago.

After reading about it, he was probably arrested because of the extended Mag which is illegal in MA. Depended on where he was traveling to, and where and if his guns were permitted, that's what could be his undoing. You can also buy a gun in another state with the intent to get it permitted in another state. There's often a grace period in states that require you to have a license in the first place. Remember, this is the United states, not Australia.

I don’t see the Pats keeping him he’s super talented this has Chiefs pick up written all over it. After some BS about second chances and Jack Jones going to some kind of sensitivity training.

Hopefully Jack's highly paid fall guy packed Jack's bags for him and somehow misplaced his own firearms in them.

Krafty Bob is an ultimate social justice warrior... can't see how he can't cut Jones given the teams' history with employing scofflaws

I would be utterly shocked if he’s a Patriot for more than a day. He will most definitely get cut tomorrow, and is facing a prison sentence.

Guy can't stay out of trouble

Given the team's history with Hernandez and the seriousness of these firearms charges against Jones, the team pretty much has to cut him. And they should, this dude obviously is a bad seed.

There are cases of people whom have been caught doing this 3 times and still only received a fine. This isn't as bad as most think. The fact that he was arrested make it a little more interesting, but none the less. It was probably the "illegal" clip (assuming it was in fact illegal) for his arrest

That's 52 million in fines in a SINGLE year!

The Patriots literally drafted a mass murderer in recent memory so the ownership isn't going to mess around with any sort of gun crimes and Jack Jones has a history of breaking the law and this is a multi billion dollar business, that's totally different to joe bloggs who works at McDonalds getting popped doing it.

I'll be stunned if he isn't cut within a day or two.

Maybe, maybe not. Wouldn't surprise me if he pleads no contest and gets probation or something.
I think one or two of those carry a mandatory prison sentence.

How many had two guns. Loaded with large capacity mags?

The illegal mag (in MA) will be his issue, and many have been caught with more then one. Lots of people travel with multiple guns. There is no legal limit. If you forget to check it in, mutiple guns is the the same concept as a single gun, which again, happens all the time. Also extended mags are grandfathered, so its not completely illegal to have one, it just has to be made before 1994, and if he was traveling to a state that its legal, then it probably will get dismissed, especially if it wasn't the one loaded in the gun, which most don't do when packing it for travel due to its cumbersome nature. Theres a lot of tick tacky things that could affect his outcome, like if it was locked in a case (kind of hard to say you forgot to check it in without it being locked), etc etc. Now clearly im not willing to bet his peanut brain had the foresight and smarts to pack it properly.

It isn't legal in an airport. Anywhere in the US.
