I mean, he owns the team. He's the boss. Like any other boss, you can have your problems with him or her, but at the end of the day, it's more important to be consistent than a nice guy. He extends his respect from day 1 by letting football people make the football calls and most of the personnel calls. He has the right to say "look, this isn't a mickey mouse team. I don't act capriciously, and in return I don't tolerate multiple agendas."
It might never work again, but it worked 9 times in 18 years if "working" means a super bowl berth, and more than that if we mean a conference championship appearance. It's been a hugely successful couple of decades.
Is Kraft coducive to winning? Very much so. It can be said the owner has nothing to do with winning/losing. If so we can shut up about the Kraft influence. But it might also be that the owner can be judged for the team's performance, in which case, just shut up about Kraft, because he's winny not losey.
Now we might not like him -- me, I'm okay with him -- but what we can't say is "typical Kraft move. what a loser"
