Not everything is within their control unless your going to strongarm your candidates into taking it today. Some of the candidates like BoB who most consider the best candidate might be waiting to see if any HC jobs materialize first. I wouldn't expect it to drag out more than a few more days but you aren't the only one impacting the timeline so you might not be in total control. You might have to do the shrine without him or something like that.

Have read he is assembling his new and improved offensive staff by using this method. A new WR coach may be part of the package..

You have to interview minority candidates for this position. It really isn't that hard to figure this out. If they simply hired an old white guy as their offensive coordianator they would be fined, so they have to go through the process. I also believe that the Patriots actually take this stuff seriously and actually try to interview candidates who they are interested in.
