We're on to the OFF-Season

In my book, AJ Brown and Harry were close. I can only think that they went with Harry because he was 6'4" versus Brown at 6'1".

As for George Pickens, he blew out his ACL in 2021 and ended the season with just 107 yards. I don't see how any team could look at his college numbers and think he was going to do what he's done this year for the Steelers.

Rehashing draft picks with 20/20 hindsight is really just a waste of eveyone's time anyway. We're all great at it.
I always see this stated that Harry was 6'4 but he measured 6'2 at the combine.

Tuna also won two with Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler. Neither of those guys will be sniffing the HOF.
Lest we forget Bill Parcells also took Dallas quarterbacked by Quincy Carter to the NFL Playoffs.....QUINCY CARTER!!!!!!!!!

After the Hernandez pick and the fallout, you honestly think that the Patriots were going to take that chance on Pickens? Even he admitted that there were questions about his character when he said, "Before I came in the league, in the draft, there was a lot of talk about, ‘Is he going to have good character? Is he going to have this and that?', but the guys on this team really embraced me. And that kind of showed."

After Aaron Hernandez, I think character issues are a big red flag in the Patriots drafting room. I mean really, Pickens was ejected from a game for throwing punches. That's got to enter into the conversation, especially for the Pats.
Really?? Good character players can bust too I like guys with spunk screw the choir boys. Playing on the Football Field is not a academic exercise. Hey they Drafted CB Jack Jones who have some Issues amazing player see.

I'd say get 2 to 3 WRS in Free agency, Michael Pittman, tee Higgins, DeAndre Hopkins could all possibly be attainable.
Not enough, imo. Would also add Cooks and Jeudy. Patricia has a 5 wide concept he's been working on. He calls it the Jupiter Assault offense or Jupiter-5 for short.

With an extension for Smith and needing to re-sign Jackson, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens have to cut or trade a quality player to get under the cap. Pats might be able to take advantage of the situation.
I would have given up a First for him.

I wouldn't have guessed that Madden has the best record by win pct as a coach in the Super Bowl era. Matt LaFleur is #5 and Dungy is ahead of BB

What's interesting is that BB's winning % was at .683 in 2019 and has dropped to .662 in 3 seasons. At that rate, in 3 more seasons he could drop below Reid or even Tomlin while still not catching Shula.

It's tough to look at the all time great coaches then pick one and say that 1) he is the greatest coach of all time and 2) there's no argument for anyone else that he's at the GOAT's level. If we go by rings it's definitely Bill. If we go by wins then it can't be Bill because Shula has more. Etc.

What about win percentage then? Raw numbers are just a factor of longevity in the position. If you've got a QB of that caliber for such an outlying length of play at that position you better have the highest winning percentage or pretty close.

What did you imply then? Was Chad Jackson a good pick or a bad pick? Are you blaming BB for CJ's failed career or the player for not having what is took to be successful in the NFL?
I didn't say he was a bust after 1 year. I said he was a bust period.
The pick was incomplete. I would've like to have seen him play more than one season - that's all. Again, he said he couldn't cut at all after the ACL tear. If you can't run, you can't play.
Whatever. Gronk was a football player.

Gronk always played on the XP/FG protection team in 2010 and 2011.

Gronk did play in the 2012 playoffs. To your point you are attempting to make he broke it again.
Yes you are right, it was that game and he briefly played.

So...? We should or shouldn't grab problematic players?

I will say that the WR position is full of flaky people.

Moss really only lasted here for 1 1/2 years.

But good character players generally don't murder people. If you think character isn't part of the Patriots draft process, you're dreaming.

And bringing up Jack Jones... really? You mean the Jack Jones that's currently suspended from the team because he blew off rehab and supposedly argued with Belichick about it? Yeah, I'm sure the coaches just love that pick now.

Is that a rhetorical?? Here's a question for you what's our hit rate with choir boy WR's?? Waiting...

So I take it you don't like Jack Jones now. Good luck keeping with the Bills with Josh Allen not even in his prime: Tua haven't loss to us yet but we don't have problems.

If Breer is right (I know I’m walking into a trap by the mere words), and there is a disconnect between young NE players and the coaches, I would want a post 2009 reset. Regardless, I’d love to see the team approach this offseason like that one. Restart, find a good core that will buy in, move on from detractors.

Some will suggest to keep the players and move on from the aging coach(es). But I’d be more interested in seeing how the team would perform if a few of the malcontents move on. If disfunction and lack of success continue, then more scrutiny is required from the owners.

Hopkins looking to be traded. Cooks looking to be traded. OBJ should be healthy.

Patriots really need to be aggressive and get a premium WR.
