I'm not trying to talk down BB. But he hasn't been Joe Gibbs, winning with 3 different QBs.
Tuna also won two with Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler. Neither of those guys will be sniffing the HOF.

Neither had Mac like deficiencies either.

JFC. No. Thornton wouldn't have been there in the third. This was confirmed. Just like it was confirmed that Strange was going to be off the board by the 10th pick of the 2nd round.

You're attempt to re-write history is ridiculous.
Yeah and I can pick WR's with my eyes closed better than BB and his Patriots scouting goons. The year they Drafted Harry I wanted A.J Brown. This year I wanted George Pickens they select Boney T before him. George Pickens would have been the best WR on this Team as a Rookie what could have been.

If you could provide me with the numbers for tomorrow night, that would be amazing.

Well to give you an idea, when Mac was drafted, many posters here compared him to the Jets Chad Pennington...
I hated that guy maybe that's why I can't stand Mac the little engine that couldn't!

Sorry Ian I don't gamble quit 17 years ago.

In my book, AJ Brown and Harry were close. I can only think that they went with Harry because he was 6'4" versus Brown at 6'1".

As for George Pickens, he blew out his ACL in 2021 and ended the season with just 107 yards. I don't see how any team could look at his college numbers and think he was going to do what he's done this year for the Steelers.

Rehashing draft picks with 20/20 hindsight is really just a waste of eveyone's time anyway. We're all great at it.

Arguing that every call is a 20/20 hindsight call is something people here are even better at.

But the reality is that a lot of people here really do talk about these players before the draft, during the draft, and during the time after the draft and before any NFL-level information has come out to justify a claim of 20/20 hindsight.

BS watch his tapes you can clearly see IMPACT written all over him I was singing his tune all last Draft he was the WR I wanted most of all. I know the Patriots was going to Draft a WR and most likely the wrong one. Yeah I hope Boney T pans out but based on BB WR Drafting history not holding my breath.

I never said that.
What did you imply then? Was Chad Jackson a good pick or a bad pick? Are you blaming BB for CJ's failed career or the player for not having what is took to be successful in the NFL?
Why are you so quick to call him a bust as it was only his rookie year? What happened to "let's wait 3 years to call him a bust"?
I didn't say he was a bust after 1 year. I said he was a bust period.
Yeah my favorite is when Bill put Rob Gronkowsi on the field goal unit up 35 points in the 4th quarter of the 2012 season against the Colts. He broke his forearm and missed the playoffs. He would've been useful against Baltimore.
Whatever. Gronk was a football player.

Gronk always played on the XP/FG protection team in 2010 and 2011.

Gronk did play in the 2012 playoffs. To your point you are attempting to make he broke it again.

I mean 90% of the starter in this league are capable of throwing that kind of deep ball.

What separate good QB to the bad one in my view are their capacity to read the field quick enough, to handle pressure and are able to make plays when the play broke down.

Evan Lazar pointed out last week on PU or catch-22e that this year Mac had trouble reading the coverage on short and intermediate throws often making the bad choices. Has had trouble with his accuracy on shorter throws.

Mac is fine when nothing goes wrong the problem is that in the NFL something goes wrong more often than not.

Mac will probably get another year but with Bill response yesterday I feel he is not that high on Mac Jones. So the question is does Bill want to put cap space or draft capital into star talent on offense for a QB he is not sure he wants to commit to?

Whether he thinks Mac the the answer or not shouldn’t really impact the need for getting better weapons on offense

Mac would benefit if he wins starting job next year

Zappe would benefit if he beats out Mac in training camp

Or any drafted/FA QB would benefit from having a legit weapon on offense

I'd have to imagine Mac will get another year so the investment should be on offensive talent, line and skill. I see a couple tackles in our range (Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones) and a few WR's. There are also tons of DE/OLB which might be the target if we aren't able to extend Uche.
I agree! Mac deserves another year as starter, it wasn't fair to what was done to him last off season, changing the offense wich we know wasn't conducive to his skill set and the teams overall production.

Definitely need this line revamped, Andrews ,strong, ownenu are your veterans. Everything else needs to be upgraded!

I'd say get 2 to 3 WRS in Free agency, Michael Pittman, tee Higgins, DeAndre Hopkins could all possibly be attainable..

Definitely need some depth In the secondary for sure

I don't think Tee Higgins is a free agent also Mac shouldn't be handed the job he's shown that he can't bring a Team back from behind or beat quality Teams that BB knows.

I was listening to talk radio it was reported tee Higgins could be a cap casualty, no qb on this roster has shown that ability to come back!

Mac is the hest option going forward to win, however I'm not saying it should be handed to him either he'll have to earn it!

However we have some offensive pieces in place we heed need elite talent!

BB absolutely hall of fame coach, however your only as good as the people around you! I feel like this was one BB worst ever coaching seasons.

After the Hernandez pick and the fallout, you honestly think that the Patriots were going to take that chance on Pickens? Even he admitted that there were questions about his character when he said, "Before I came in the league, in the draft, there was a lot of talk about, ‘Is he going to have good character? Is he going to have this and that?', but the guys on this team really embraced me. And that kind of showed."

After Aaron Hernandez, I think character issues are a big red flag in the Patriots drafting room. I mean really, Pickens was ejected from a game for throwing punches. That's got to enter into the conversation, especially for the Pats.

You don't lose the comp pick. It may get reduced. Possibly a 4th now instead of a 3rd. But we should get 3 unless Bolden doesn't make the cut-off. Which is I stated I don't count them because we don't know yet. Also, we could get a pick for Mayo if he goes somewhere else and get's a HC or DC
