I’d argue Reid was a disaster in the playoffs until getting a perennial all star like Mahomes and - while he might be victorious this season - has won one SB with a (likely) future HoFer. Tomlin also had a future HoFer for his one SB.
Don’t look now, but Andy Reid is 6 years younger than BB and 5th in NFL history with 266 total coaching wins (plus whatever happens this playoff season). With Mahomes and the longer schedule, he actually has a chance to pass BB even if BB passes Shula for most coaching wins. I didn’t realize just how high up he was on the list until earlier today. He gets laughed at for his clock management, but he’e been very good overall.

Looking back during the Carroll era, he got a raw deal. He was at the mercy of Grier's horrendous personnel decisions and drafts, yet took the team to the playoffs two years in a row with 1 division title and 1 playoff win. In fact, with a healthy Martin in 1997, they beat down Pittsburgh in the regular season, lock up the #2 seed that year and beat down Pittsburgh again in the playoffs. He then gets them back to the playoffs in 1998 even with Bledsoe's injury missing the last 2.5 games. Zolak beat the fuking 49ers at home! He misses the playoffs ONE year in 1999 with a deteriorating roster and the worst running game in the NFL, but he gets canned for it.

Post Tom, Bill has missed the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years with NO division titles and NO playoffs wins while picking his own groceries. Serious changes need to be made.

Doubtful that someone as large as Andy will be coaching into his 70s.

In no universe should McDermott be a 1st stringer.

3rd or 4th OT/emergency G....I think so as hes done it at an NFL level.

McDermott has no business on NFL field. Every team hes been on found that, NE found that the first time - then he was no good even for PS - starting games now underlines the whole OL fiasco. There were few snaps when OL looked somewhat competent in PP and it was when he was out w injury.

Watch any of his games and find me ONE pass protection snap where he looks like NFL OT (even swing/b-up). He was the worst Pats OT ive ever seen in preseason game and unfortunately he didn't improve much.

The fact that Bill thinks guys like him, Ferentz, Russey etc can play in NFL is a problem going forward..

I always liked Carrol and was disappointed he was fired.
I remember Kraft was between Belichick and Carroll.
Question is had we not fell into Brady how long would Bill of lasted and what would be the record.

Peter never had a losing record in the 3 seasons he was here. The Pats have had 2 of 3 losing seasons the last 3 years.

Bill has no QB and with the most powerful piece on the chessboard broken, NFL life is much harder.

Fix that 1 position and the rest falls into place.

Yes...overall, BB had a worse season than Mac based on MP/JJ alone. The team never even had a chance.
And retaining can Achord after 2021... That's a woozy as well. If not for the Superbowls bill belichick could have been fired just because of cam Achord. That's how potentially dangerous he is to the team and coaching staff.

IMO OT is a top priority.

RT is vacant
LT has Brown for one more year.
If they draft a cornerstone LT move Brown to RT.

If the right guy is there i'd burn the 14th pick on him.
I would burn the 14th selection on a Real TE too sick of these scrubs we currently have.

I'm interested in what changes they could potentially make. (Going to assume the offensive coordinator position is certainly going to be looked at)I have to imagine at this point Kraft isn't happy with the direction of the team considering they haven't won a playoff game in four seasons.

Regardless defense is pretty solid most of the time and the running game is good. Special teams clearly need work same with the offensive line.

Jones will be back for his third season and at that point we should know if he's the QB for the future

I liked Carroll too, but knew the end was near as many thought the Pats were a Super Bowl contending team from 1997-1999. Lots of bad personnel decisions was he and Grier's downfall. The Jets coming out of nowhere in 1998 and going 1-3 against them rom 1998- 1999 must've pissed Bob Kraft off. The AFC East was a beast in the late 90's.

Bill most likely doesn't last past 2002 had he not drafted Brady or Brady was terrible.

Getting a good to really good QB is tough to get.

Now you’re talking. Pretty good class coming out this year led by Michael Mayer. An alternative to the OT vs WR debate at 14. Mayer can give us some blocking and receiving.

Id trade Brown actually. Hes just not PTP. Mac/QB needs a fighter there not a lazy wannabe. Not good for Cole's development either.
Time to move on.

He should give decent return pick + cap : his contract is appealing to buyers in a desert OT market.

Move Onwenu to RT, Hines looked promising at RG, signing somebody like Dilliard for LT shouldn't break the bank, then see what Draft offers (dont see plug and play LT esp for NE in the Draft - maybe @BaconGrundleCandy is more optimistic : )

the part irritating here for me is why bill thought the hiring of patricia and judge in charge of the offense was really the best available option

i agree we need to bring in 2 starting caliber OT via draft or FA because brown wasn't that good
also if they want to implement the zone stuff for real then brown isn't a good fit

i would like to keep onwenu at RG to have consistency with the Offense Line, there might be already two new starting OT

i think henry at least deserves another shot within a new scheme/offense next season, hopefully the 2023 OC knows how to use a TE
