Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Defensive snap counts show Anthony Nelson (four tackles, sack, forced fumble) played every snap at OLB, as did Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Ton of nickel with Winfield in on all but five snaps coming back from injury.

So is Hall a bust? Haven't heard much about him, albeit he is a rookie.

I think it's too late for Gronk. Last time he came back, it took him 8 games to get to NFL game speed. The time was during the Bye week.

what year was that where it took him half year to get to game speed? he was blocking really well in beginning of 2020 during the time Tom got used to the OL, etc. Qualitatively, he also had better stats in first half of that season than second.

That said, I agree during bye week it would have been ideal...who knows how the Bucs blundered that, but another body for the line is a benefit for Tom right now, plus he's always shown chemistry with the Gronk.

Agree, as a blocker he can probably work right away. I think Kieft and Otton are doing a decent job as blockers.

On his "Let's Go" podcast, Tom Brady offers a glimmer of hope of Ryan Jensen being available for playoffs: "I think that's still to be determined. I know he's been very vigilant with his rehab. I don't know, I don't think anyone knows right now."

So the #Panthers arrive at @RJStadium having won four of their last six. In the two losses (to Ravens, Steelers), they TOTALED 57 rushing yards. In the four wins (Falcons, Broncos, Seahawks, Lions), they AVERAGED 240.

Vea better get healthy

Todd Bowles speaking with reporters now. Said training room doesn't open until 3, but acknowledged Wirfs re-aggravated his injured ankle. Hopeful of Donovan Smith returning this week.

RB @_fournette reveals he’s playing with a lisfranc injury, which reduced Lavonte David to about 65 percent in the playoffs last year. Absolute stud to go out there and be a workhouse down the stretch with 75 yards rushing and nine catches for 90 yards receiving.

Well as a glimmer of positivity, the Panthers are 1-5 on the road this season. Bucs meanwhile are 4-4 at home. Brady has thrown 14 TDs and 5 INTs at home vs 7 TDs and 4 INTs on the road.

Only if Brady plays for a new team? I mean, there's basically no chance Brady would want to play in Tampa again unless they magically convince the Saints to trade them Sean Payton I guess.
I'm not sure about that as they only need to do two things. First, get a strong OC who won't take BS from Bowles, maybe someone experienced like Bill O Brian (although his services will be in demand including from the Pats). Second, fix the OL and the Bucs could be a top team again with an explosive offense.

If Tampa really wants Brady, they will do the above and it might be hard for Brady to say no. Question is does Tampa really really want Brady back?

Can Tampa get Lamar? Then they won’t want him back. If not, they’ll want him back.

Lamar sucks once Nov hits the last couple of season and injured by december. I guess you could argue the warmer Florida weather will help him.

Didn't Lamar turn down 40mil/year? Is he really worth that when he is injured every other year? Also similar run 1st Qbs have availability issues with injuries too ie Lance and Fields. Then when they hit their 30s, aren't very good anymore when they can't extend plays with their legs ie Wilson.

The guys at Pewterreport have started to turn on Brady. Don't agree on their take.

Keeping in mind Brady's OL are all backups, injured, or new.

The red zone miss to Julio was partly because Julio tripped and wasn't where he was suppose to be.

The end zone miss to Evans was because Brady got hit yet still Evans could have salvaged the play but badly misplayed it.

On the other interception, the only reason Evans " broke away" as the writer claims was because the defender peeled away to go for the ball, while Evans was totally clueless and kept going. You would think that he'd turn around as soon as the defender stopped covering him to at least break up the play.

I remember on a long bad pass to Edelman, he suddenly had to become the cornerback and the defender was like the WR. Edelman basically mugged the guy to breakup the interception. Evans hasn't been doing that and he should be because Brady is often only getting 2 seconds to throw the ball. So there is a good chance Brady has to hurry his throw or get hit while throwing deep.

Alot of the Bucs fanbase are quite salty after the win. Don't know what they are expecting with all the injuries and crappy play calling. I mean 3 straight runs to the middle couldn't get 1 yard, they are that Bad. The only reason why they aren't at the bottom of the division is Brady.

They posted a stat about Brady and passing game last night, talking about 10+ air yard passes. It was intended to put Brady in a poor light over the ints, and I think they got the stat wrong, but I think that stat as they posted it really highlighted the problem for the Bucs, and for other teams with serious OL struggles. It was after the second INT, I think, and it was something to the tune of Brady being 1 for 4 with 2 INTs on passes of more than 10+ air yards.

The bottom line is that you can't throw downfield if your QB can't be protected. And this is nothing new to Patriots fans. We saw this in 2019, just as 2013 showed us that you have to have at least some NFL talent at the WR position or your QB is going to suffer for it.

The guys at Pewter report will opine fondly for the Brady days when he's gone

Have Bucs fans lost their minds and forgotten how s.hit and utterly irrelevant they’ve historically been aside from two different 3ish year periods separated by two decades?
