Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Tonight is the seventh time Bucs have won a game while scoring 21 points or less -- one off the most for any team in the Super Bowl era. Last time to do it eight times in a season was 2005 Bears.

Tom Brady in overtime tonight:

4 yards to Fournette
8 yards to Evans
23 yards to Gage
5 yards to Jones
16 yards to Evans
13 yards to Gage

6-for-6, 69 yards to set up Ryan Succop 40-yard game-winning field goal

Bucs T Josh Wells suffered a torn left patellar tendon and is out for the year.

The Christmas night win was Tom Brady’s 250th career NFL regular season triumph

Another EPIC Tom Brady comeback! Down by 10 points in the 4th quarter. He still manages to lead the Bucs to a win in OT. Man what a true LEGEND!

It's too bad that Brady didn't get to finish in NE, but you can't blame Bill. He had former MVP Cant Newton to replace him.

Bucs are so desperate they need to loot someone's PS for an OT, Patriots style.

Bucs have like $3m cap space. How does the playoff signing of Gronk look vs salary cap?

Uggh please no. Not worth it.

Now next year though...

What's ironic is that IF Brady wants to keep playing after this season, the best spot for winning is staying put in Tampa. The team is still going to basically all be intact and the divsion will still be putrid garbage. It's just the coaching is so, unbelievably, bad and its probably making him want to blow his brains out. But add a few pieces and that roster is still really good on paper.

Feeling good about the win last night!!!! I don't care if it came against the lowly Cardinals. Watching Brady pull off yet another improbable victory never gets old.

Now time to kick the crap out of the Panthers and put this f*cking division out of it's misery!!!!!!!!!

exactly. a win is a win. I’ll take last night, the Rams game and the second Saints game over some the improbable losses the Pats have had this year

they really need to win these last two. Brady’s never had a season with a losing record is on the line

Exactly. The weight of Brady avoiding his first losing season was hanging over that game big time last night. That's why the victory felt better than the usual comeback. I'm sure it's extremely important to Brady to finish the season with a winning record.

I think it's too late for Gronk. Last time he came back, it took him 8 games to get to NFL game speed. The time was during the Bye week.

I'm OK with Otton (though he went 2/7). Too bad Rudolph is cooked. The keys to make a run are to get 90% of D players back, and figure out what the hell to do about the OL. Need Smith back only because he's >> Walton. T position is critically thin. Don't know much about Skule aside from being an ex-49er.

Well, along these lines (sort of):

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Gronk could return in 2023.

Gronk tweeted “I’m bored” in recent days. A couple of teams reached out about a possibility unretirement in 2022. The Buccaneers actually had been talking to him for a while.

The door is open for ’23, per Rapoport. And that could mean Gronk be will reunited once again with Tom Brady, if Brady plays for a new team next year.

Snap counts are out for Bucs-Cardinals. On offense, Fournette got 49 snaps to 29 for Rachaad White. Heavy lean on Cade Otton at tight end, and Russell Gage had almost twice the snaps Julio Jones had.
