I am honestly wondering if BB is considering using the bye to make the switch.

Been a huge Mac supporter was hoping we'd land him in the draft, but this is obviously not progression.

Either Mac figures it out over the bye or Zappe gets the nod full time. Not sure there are enough reps for both. So IMO, Bill has to make a choice.

One of my kids almost went to Assumption, that actually was kinda nice
Visited there with my youngest for soccer ... nice campus ... he loved it but the team was over his abilities.

I am not exactly pro Zappe ... but I see Brady today ... 58 pass attempts in
tight windows ... this is not Mac ... just saying ... his QB testicles are small ... is what it is.
Year 2 okay ... but 1 metric of QB's is how fast you can throw the sideline pass? I don't see it.
Brady was top of the class in this metric... Mac is not Brady ... okay .. unfair but a barometer nonetheless.
If not then everything else is simply an excerize in futility.
Sideline pass metric is not much different than red zone windows ...
I don't post much in this category ... little time ... but I see it over the years ..
Mac does not have it ... it is a intellectual ability to process information quickly.
Athletic ability only gets one so far in sports .. the premier athletes in all sports are intellectually superior.

Mac is in the middle of good starter and competent backup .... IMO. .... .1A ... Not A level.

I am curious about what BB does for the rest of the season. Mac doesn't look the same.

Also sidenote, but the Jets defense does appear to be legit. I think they add Jimmy G in the offseason.
no, we add Jimmy G

Definitely seemed like today Mac was told do not turn the ball over period even if he can not complete a single pass. Seems like he is playing not to lose, scared and no confidence. I think Bill, Patricia and Judge have messed him up badly.

With the same O line and same Coaching Zappe could get to his other reads.
Tell me how many Games has Mac had this season where he’s hit More than 3 or 4 different players for receptions?
How is it the same Oline when it was a different Oline?

The thing about Olines is that they look a hell of a lot better when they're playing in front of a QB who has the experience to read defenses and have confidence to go through his reads in 2.5 seconds. Then the OL looks great. I know Scarnecchia is god, etc., etc., but his OL payed in front of Brady. It's the same thing with QBs like Manning and Brees. They don't get pressured as much because they know what they're doing.

When the QB is green, you need a running game to get the pressure off. We have one (not today, obviously). When we get Andrews back and Strange gets over whatever happened the last 2 weeks, we'll be back to the running game. The OL and the QB play will be better

Quick decisions are sorely lacking ... he does not throw with big balls ... for whatever reason ... he simply does not.

Above average OL to help a middle of the pact QB ... this is not going to get a team to the dance.
Even if teams do not have the the competence ... it should always be the goal ... next year will not be different.

There is truth in this but if Mac is "The Man" he will have to rise above it and prove he can be a difference maker. Assuming the OL situation gets ironed out and they stay healthy, he should have his chances. That likely means some combination of Brown, Strange, Andrews, Wynn and Owenu. I don't know about Cajuste.

Woof.

Well, Mac's got enough rope to hang himself so to speak. I know why they didn't put in Zappe this week but...it was not inspiring.

The defense was historically good against a team switching QB's and Offensive Coordinators. They need to figure out what the hell their offensive identity is because it isn't getting easier going forward.

The one plus with mac is hes improved in each game back. Its been at a snail’s pace but at this rate he should be able to have a good game against buffalo! ;) Which would work nice if our d is able to ball out again wilson and cousins

Zappe looked pretty bad vs the Bears. He got the Pats a lead and then imploded.
...the way Brady did at Miami and at Denver in his first starting stint...

Or we can judge Flutie's whole career based on his first start at Green Bay...

The story of the Bears game is they gave up on the run because they were behind, something they did not do at Green Bay. Probably because it was the rookie's first playing time.

We haven't had a good running game in almost a full calendar month, never mind just yesterday.

I'd feel a bit better about Corky's ability to re-invent his play going forward if he didn't have to face so many 2nd/8s... But he's being placed in these obvious passing situations because of our impotent running game, and that's when the pressure starts...

So we have that going for us...

Dragging Flutie into this discussion isn't fair, he was hamstrung being forced to wear the incorrect red jersey. That's why he came back in 2005, so he could play in blue and feel vindicated.

Well Judon is playing like LT he's a force really hoping for one or three the Uche - Jennings and McMillan to help him.

Just hope that dude doesn’t burn out or get injured. Defense would be screwed then

IF we can bring this kind of heat consistently and this was without Barmore we should give Buffalo some trouble.
