Zappe has been playing above our expectations from Mac. But still, I think that Mac should be brought back as soon as he is at 100%.
I have no problems with that.. I just don't understand playing Mac sooner than necessary - what do we really gain? I feel the risk reward is obvious

I think that the <43% of Mac voters have concerns that if they show up to the stadium or are walking down the street wearing Mac's jersey, that ppl will throw rotten tomatoes at them. I don't understand it, but it's a concern, in their minds. (jk)

I will be happy if we are starting zappe! (For the rest of the year?)

You're killing me with this. Again, I know it's a schtick, and you have fun doing it, but please don't make me go back and dig out all of your posts under your previous username when you gushed over Brady (I was looking at them last week after a similar interaction and sort of shaking my head over it). Because posts like this are 100% the opposite of what you used to post.
Wolf in sheeps clothing I see

Obviously Mac wants to get back on the field as fast as possible but I'm sure the urgency has increased with Zappe fever overtaking the fanbase. I think in this particular situation Belichick will actually do what he thinks is in the best interest of the team and he certainly won't take into account what the fans want. That said, the longer Zappe plays, especially with these cupcakes lined up on the schedule, and he's presumably playing well, and the team's winning, the harder it will be to go back to Mac. It's not what I want, but my gut feeling is Mac starts Monday night, and probably has a decent game, and the fanbase will realign in support of him. At least he had better hope that's the way it goes because if Zappe has a chance for a couple more showings like Sunday then Mac might be filing a civil suit against Calais Campbell.

Remember when Mac seemed desperate to play even when he could barely walk?

Maybe this is why... he knew Zappe would push for the job

Or maybe Mac wants to play because he's a competitive football player and team leader. He was voted team captain by his peers, after all.

I disagree. He's got a mole in this forum and is looking at the results of this poll. So get your votes in by Saturday, before the decision on the starter is made. Your vote matters.

Honestly With the way our D had been playing I’ll take “game manager” Zappe over Mac right now. I was astonished to see his turnover numbers as a starter… was it 20 INT and 7 fumbles ?

I’ll take a strong run game/turnover free/strong short to intermediate passing day over turnover city Mac…

Kid can have all the ability in the world but it does us no good if he’s throwing multiple interceptions a game

Maybe someone with much more football knowledge than I have knows the answer to this, but QB requires a lot more than just what happens after the snap. Getting the right protection, recognizing pre-snap coverage, checking out of plays when needed. Brady was the master at this, and what happens in the play is at least as much dependent on this as having the physical tools to make the play. Was Mac doing this well but the OL was going through early season growing pains? Or was he not recognizing the coverages and setting protections correctly? Is Zappe better at this, or has the OL taken giant steps and Andrews is calling the protections? Maybe this is something only the coaches and team really knows, or maybe it's pretty obvious to a bigger football brain than mine.

This is all your opinion. Since when is winning the most super bowls or SB MVPs a prerequisite to being the greatest? Brady is the most accomplished NFL player in history. But he’s not the most talented. And Mahomes is just getting started. He got his first MVP in his first year as starter. Brady did not get his until he was 7 years into the league. And if it weren't for a fluky offsides by Dee Ford, Mahomes would have won the super bowl his first year as starter too.
Shocking take on your part, just shocking. Lol

Also it’s not my opinion Brady is the GOAT. At this point it’s widely accepted by even his most ardent haters
There's one hater on this forum that refuses to accept it

Ricky Proehl?

Got to call you on this. Justin Fields was your pick for us in 2020 and so far he's failing badly. Trey Lance has not looked good either and worse looks to be injury prone which is fatal for his style. Cam Newton, the NCAA avatar of the new breed of QB and 2015 NFL MVP is already out of the league. Russell Wilson looks like he's losing it too.

Mahomes is just extraordinary and may end up being the GOAT but he can play in any style.

But who else has any chance of challenging Brady, Manning and Brees for the long term? Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson will sooner or later need to succeed as pocket QB's as their running back skills fade. Running backs in the NFL have the shortest careers. Running QB's are little better.

I think it's still the old story in NFL: if legs are the key to a QB's success they just don't have longevity in the NFL. Careers are so limited in the NCAA that it doesn't matter there, but Cam vs Brady illustrates the utter contrast of the styles in longevity.
Thank god one of the other weird people emerged from the draft subforum to put self anointed “#1 draft king and definitely better at it than Belichick” BGC in his place. Bravo.

Are you sure you’re a patriots fan…?

LOL lots of people choked against Brady and the Pats, man.

Yeah it is. Not everyone shares that sentiment. Go on any team's message board and there is still talk of the Pats being cheaters. Brady being the GOAT is not a universally accepted statement. What is widely accepted is him being the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history. But that doesn't translate him into being the most talented.
You can’t be serious with this #$@&. I am about as solidly team bill as you can get but there is absolutely zero way you can say anyone else is even in the GOAT discussion with Brady. He’s got it all, stats, awards, wins, titles, any intellectual honest person can see he has almost lapped the competition. Split Brady’s career in half and he would have a decent argument for GOAT in both of them, not the slam dunk no brainer his entire career is, but it wouldn’t be a crazy discussion. Here is where I think the disconnect is. Remember that how the f did he do that flying horizontally thru the air 30 yard rope Mahomes threw in the Super Bowl? Can Brady make that throw? Nope, no way, not if he had 1,000 tries at it. You know why Brady is more talented then Mahomes? Cuz the play before that he would have read the defense, changed the protection, and hit a 5 yard out so it’s 3rd&5 instead of 3rd&10 thus he has no need to make insane what did I just see throws like that. Brady is the most talented QB of all time. Full stop. There is no reasonable discussion for anyone else.
