The irony will be something if the man who was supposed to be the next Brady turns out the next Bledsoe.

Yeah, great rebuttal..from a 14yr old.
Mac has been BEYOND TERRIBLE, HE SHOULD HAVE 7 OR 8 INTS, he's been LUCKY.

I'm on the Zappe bandwagon. He seems to have better pocket presence. He moves up in the pocket rather than straight back 10 yards. He is avoiding pressure and making plays when it looks like a win for the defense. I haven't seen that from MJ this season.

Because Mac is Horrible at moving around in the pocket, he tends to run backwards, ending in a sack.
HORRIBLE Pocket awareness

We saw it last week, Zappe move up in the pocket TWICE, and delivered a STRIKE.

He moved Up AND AROUND.
Say what you will, THAT is important for a good qb.
Mac doesn't do that much from my observations.

Joe Judge is doing a great job with Zappe why you hating on him?
1) Judge is indeed doing a great job with Zappe.

2) Hoyer is Mac's coach. His contact is a way to pay him enough to get him to be Mac's coach

With regard to this thread, I think that Mac should start when healthy, and be on a short leash. In any case, Zappe was drafted as a backup and possible competitor in the future. What a HUGE success!

It would be great for the Bills and the AFC East if NE goes back to Mac.

I just don’t see it with Mac. In my opinion (which isn’t worth much), he just doesn’t have the arm strength necessary to make teams be honest at all levels of the field and he doesn’t have the “Joe cool” attitude in the pocket either.

Zappe has impressed me with his calmness in the pocket, his accuracy, and his ability to know when to take the big play and when to settle for the check down. Will that continue as teams get more tape? Only time will tell.

Army has a traditionally strong defense in college football. Zappe’s 435 yards against them is the most yards thrown for by a quarterback against Army since at least 2000, as that’s as far as sportsreference.com goes back.

C'mon, he's a 4th Rd pick, he's lucky to make the team!

I wonder if next offseason will actually be a QB competition.
I feel like Mac's in a no-win situation. He has to throw 30 TDs and 0 interceptions the rest of the way and finish 11-0 to have any shot at fans possibly not wanting Zappe to get a shot. Oh, and also not lose in the postseason and win the Super Bowl, but you know... no pressure

Texas Tech almost lost to Houston Baptist, can we stop and really take that in for a minute? Zappe was the reason Houston Baptist almost won putting up 567 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions.

They said, it is only preseason, then the season started and it was because of the coaches,

Every QB throws INts but these Ints if BB watches them will be pissed off and if he sees one more, Mac is done. These are really really bad, at least let the defenders work for them. What the hell?

We did this already I believe on this one. Linebacker was hidden behind the line sitting low where Jones couldn't see him and it looked worse in real-time than it was:

Spacing was terrible on this play too - but that's a story for another day

I wanted Mac to Rush back but if Mac goes against that Jets defense, it will be his last game as starter for us unless everybody else is hurt. The Jets will feed on his weakness.

Is that HORRIBLE for us fans?
He's never done that, and never will.

Zappe can routinely throw with velocity into tight windows on short and intermediate passing plays. He gets the ball out of his hand with impressive quickness. The Western Kentucky QB also demonstrates the ability to throw with timing and anticipation, putting his pass catchers into position to succeed after the catch.
