Patricia running this offense is a complete embarrassment. Bad enough Bill has his two sons coaching on defense. Why would any player take them seriously…
If we do not have the personnel for outside zone play let's try to minimize it. We are killing the confidence of our QB .
Both onwenu and T brown are probably not good fits for OZ as per lazar and the existing OL scheme seems to be working fine 4 runs for 28 yards compared to -1 for 4 attempts in OZ.
We can experiment with these concepts on games where we are winning handsomely or games where we are losing big time. Now for next two weeks get back to basics and get our QB and receivers and Offensive linemen in sync and in confidence.
If Wynn has attitude issue at RT , keep him as LT backup and operate with onwenu as RT and Sherman as right guard. Cajuste, Wynn could be the swing tackles /guard. Really doubt Brown will last the full season as LT , so we might need to go to Wynn /Cajuste at some point.
Stidham looked more poised confident in his offense and better arm than Max.
I’d love to know why we traded him for a bag of used footballs again?
Their is a small part of me hoping that Bill is making the offense look bad and Mac showing frustration on purpose.
And bill walked in that locker room and goes ok everyone thinks we’re a mess but we are going to show Miami what is what On Sunday.
IMO, things will probably still be a little rocky for the first few weeks... but they usually are anyway. If they can get things in better shape with lots of game reps under their belts maybe they can get comfortable. I do think the talent is there and it's simply an execution issue. Belichick's teams have rarely had poor execution for the long-term so there's reasons to be optimistic despite the poor showing in the preseason.
Bro super wrong
My avatar was Stidham sitting on the throne.
Stidham was my second favorite QB in that draft behind Lock.
I know thank God I’m not a scout.
As far as last years draft I had Wilson, Lance, Fields, Mills, Jones, Mond.
Im not saying Stidham would beat out Jones today, my point is I would take Stidham over Hoyer and Zappe.
I didn’t understand using the draft capital to take Zappe when we had Stidham sitting there.
Honestly we could of taken another wife out or o line over Zappe which is what I preferred.
What has been surprising is the lack of anything I’ve seen from Pierre Strong I thought it was a great pick but based on the sample size looks closer to a easy cut.

Based on how’s he’s looked,
Taylor and JK Harris has looked more decisive and explosive.
I’m willing to give Strong a chance based on his career and his draft standing.
I’m just saving it’s disappointing from the hype that came with him thus far.

Agree 1000%. Zappe looks horrendous and never understood why BB gift wrapped Stidham to Mcdaniels as a parting gift. Would have been good to have sone competition for Jones at QB.

Who was the QB coach (and OC) for the Pats last year? Who was the head coach of the team who just trounced us? I'm taking solace in the fact that the Pats played a team whose HC knows every weakness our starting QB has, as that was FUgly.

One word describes that offensive performance - "Sputtering". It felt like an engine that couldn't turn past that 1st gear and shift into 2nd gear and beyond. All of this makes you question why there's no offensive coordinator. And why the QB coach is a guy who 'engineered' the 31st ranked Giants offense for 2 years until he was fired.
Our offense is pulled over on the side of the road and Mac Jones is calling AAA for assistance.
Yup, I know, new system, new terminology. But nobody looked in sync or even looked like they knew what they were doing. If the offense continues to play like this you can chalk up 2 losses to start the season. The Dolphins @ Miami is always a hard game for the Patriots. And the Steelers @ Pittsburgh is not gonna be any easier. Hold onto your seatbelts, 0-2 start could happen. What will BB do then?

I think this board should have a fan counciling section for this season or a whiner line. Just a spot to vent for us couch coaches, friendly venting of course. Its helpful!

It’s disappointing that we didn’t double up at wr with doubs at that pick. Especially with the amount of time we spent scouting him pre-draft. He looks like he’s going to help GB right out the gate.

The preseason games are a travesty and no way should NFL make season ticket holders pay for this crap. I do remember several years where pats have sucked in preseason and gone on to win the Super Bowl. The year the Lions went 0-16, they were 4-0 in preseason.
I would be all for just getting rid of preseason games and just have the joint practices.
