This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.
At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.
Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.
This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.
If you do you will have your account suspended.
I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.
As far as I can tell, an "apologist" in this context is considered "anyone who thinks Bill Belichick will find any success in the future." I am not sure how that is tied to an apology.
That and talking around the 1000s of personnel and coaching mistakes hes made while winning 6 of 9 Super Bowls and making the playoffs 17 of the last 21 seasons
I apologize to the Raiduhs for the Pats tucking it to them in the last game played at our old stadium.
I also apologize to the Raiduhs and Plowboys for the Pats doubling each of their SB win totals in just 18 years.
I apologize to Goody & the 32 that the Pats didn't roll over and die during the NYFL's multiple attempts at a frameup.
Sorry to Chris Mortenson for being used to get public opinion against the Pats.
This might also be a good time to apologize to the Squeelers. They had some decent teams that the Pats always seemed to send packing.
Okay, I'm not apologizing. Tough sh!t for all of them.
Just to clear something up, an apologist is not someone who apologizes for something. It's someone who defends something, oddly enough. The phrase is basically "BB defenders" as opposed to those who mostly show up after performances like last night excited to talk s*** on BB and the current state of the team, but will disappear if and when things turn around in a positive direction.
The first couple times I saw the agologist comment...I thought I missed part of the conversation because I didn't understand the meaning or missed some context. Then I tried to find who was apologizing for what. I lost valuable life minutes trying to figure this out.
One thing I just don't understand is why we are trying to implement outside zone run blocking? We're already dealing with a lot of tweaks, a new OC with new verbiage and terminology.
Why toss that on top of all this? We had success in the run game last night when we went back to our traditional power stuff.
I may have missed something. I haven't been paying much attention this preseason.

It's a post-game day thread after a horrible game. You expect fans to throw bouquets at them? And when did being critical of the HC of a football team become a crime? It's as part of the game as being critical of players, or should be.
I’m not an optimist, I’m a pragmatist… the 2022 Patriots have a problem with execution.
Need an example… before the 2020 off-season even began I said 2020 was going to be a cap clearing season and they weren’t going to be very good. I said they might be competitive if Cam had a resurgence but had zero chance to do anything of substance. The roster just didn’t have the talent and the talent they did have were all in their early 20’s.
In 2022 the talent is there, the execution is garbage.
And this outside zone run experiment is dumb. Zone blocking used to work because crack back blocks were allowed. They made crack back blocks illegal and now zone blocking only works if refs miss the crack back block or if someone on defense misplays a run or trips. It’s good in no huddle to try and catch a defense sleeping. But otherwise go back to gap blocking and play your offense.

Also nice to see all the Patriots/BB apologists out in force as well. We just need a little more practice is all, right? Assume many will disappear from this board when the Pats make Tua look like the second coming and can’t force a single punt out of the Bills in two games only to resurface at the end of the season and explain it all away and start the apology tour all over again.
Those of us who stand by them when times are tough are not the ones who “ disappear,” that honor goes to the front runners like you. Have fun rooting for the Rams again this year.
Well hand wringing be damned.
I thought the OL pass blocked effectively. Mac has to step up, literally and figuratively. The offense is best with Mac running a hurry up. Bill will figure out the run game. The offense will work out okay. I'm worried about the defense. Stidham picked them apart. To be a good football team, the defense has to hold up in the first quarter for the offense to figure out how the game is going. If the offense has to come out and score the first two possessions it will be a long year. I'm hoping for some bold cut down decisions. Keep Ray, Mitchell and Roberts in the front seven. Keep Humphrey. Keep Hines and Sherman, give up on Herron. Get rid of Bentley, Wise, Davis, and forgive me, McCourty. Maybe Uche also, speed doesn't help if it's going in the wrong direction.

I don't get why the FO wanted to switch to a sean mcvay offense scheme, especially with a second year QB. What has sean mcvay ever won? He went to the Super Bowl and got his azz kicked.
